Krásne miesto/ Nice place

I can recommend trip from Stefanova to Velky Rozsutec and back via Janosikove diery to Terchová. Amazing. You need two cars. Public transport is horrible.

Mesmerising view

Took a hike through Janosikove diery together with my friends. Totally worth it. Beautiful view at the top. The nice weather was just cherry on the top. Would hardly recommend to anybody - children or adults, beginners or advanced hikers.

Winter experience
Mar 2018 • Solo
Beautiful in the summer but amazing during the winter as well. Ones weather is good, and all is white, view is amazing. Got there via Janosikove diery lower and upper, Velky Rozsutec, sedlo Medziholie, Stefanova, Podziar and back to Biely Potok. 19km, 6-7hours.

Most beautiful mountain in Slovakia
Jul 2016 • Friends
Voted couple of times as the most beautiful mountain in Slovakia, it is a must see while in Terchova. There are some fixed chains and a bit of scrambling on the way.

Beautiful mountain views

This hiking is little bit demanding if you want to go on the top for mountain view especially in the winter time. But that views are worth it!

Hiking Mala Fatra

Sunshine on Velky Rozsutec - must have. One of most beautiful place in Slovakia. During summer and also during winter. But be careful regarding weather.

Great hike if the weather is good
Aug 2015 • Couples
Nice hike through some meadows and woodland and nice views from the top (there was fog when we went there, so we didn't see much). Not too difficult but quite time-consuming.

A great way to experience the natural environment of the Mala Fatras. Head up via Janosikove Diery for a dramatic climb through gorges and next to waterfalls (there's an elevated walkway, don't worry about getting wet!) Views from the top were magnificent, to the north towards Poland and across the peaks to the south too.
Note; coming down the mountain on it's southern aspect is tricky, down rocks and stones very prone to slipping. Is very manageable if you take your time, but don't go rushing down. The slope is steep and drops either side at times severe. But as I say, to the sensible hiker there's no need to worry.

Challanging walk/climb
Aug 2015 • Family
Take your time to climb the Velky Rozsutec and you will be rewarded with a great view on the Mala Fatra. The climb starts at te parking in Stefanova and you can choose two different routes to the top. Both are beautifull and challenging. You really need to wear good shoes, fit for walking and climbing. On difficult or steep parts there are chains attached to the roch wich you can hold on to. Also bring enough water and some food, the climb up will take you about 3-4 hours, and back another 2-3.
Alternatively you can climb the Mala Rozsutec wich is a little less high or take the cable car to the Chleb (starts at Vratna) wich brings you up to 1500 metres. Then you only have to walk about 45 minutes to reach Velky Krivan. This however is much more crowded and therefore less beautifull.

Beautiful peak, great trek
Aug 2014 • Friends
Many Slovakians consider Velky Rozsutec to be one of the most beautiful peaks in Slovakia. It is picturesque from many angles and I really enjoyed the trek leading to the top of the peak. The path was not crowded even in summer and it was crossing beautiful natural environment. Terrain is rocky and interestingly shaped. The peak is almost 1610 m high and on some sections it is secured with chains. On the way down you can take different path and if you have some time and energy left, climb Maly Rozsutec. Great one day trip to Fatra national park.
