A beautiful combination of old and new.

I've been to Jintai Abbey several times during the time I've lived in Baoji. Currently it is being expanded and new parts are being added. These are all very nice to look at, but the best part is the old shrines which are dug into the rock face. These open out into a courtyard surrounded by temple buildings and are often frequented by Taoist monks and nuns who are always surprised and happy to receive foreign visitors and always up for a chat. It's a bit of a climb to get there but definitely worth it.

Tai Chi creator's first abbey
Feb 2017 • Solo
It's very easy to access to this ancient Taoist abbey by public transit.
Tai Chi creator's first abbey. Sanfeng Zhang lived here before he founded Wudang .
The new expansion of the old abbey utilized the steep hill very well. Made the abbey look gorgeous.
Standing on the top platform, the whole city can be seen.
A lot of warship halls were built in the caves on the hill.
