An amazing place - we loved the whole experience. Being winter and covered in snow made it all the magical. Although some animals didn't want to come out and play, the polar bears were gorgeous. We managed to see many of the owls and eagles...More

Ranua Wildlife Park is a little over an hours drive from Rovaniemi. Once there you embark on an almost 3km trek through the park that houses wolves, lynx, wolverine, foxes, deer, moose, reindeer and bears. The polar bears were my favourite and we were able...More

We drove about an hour from Rovaniemi to visit Ranua Zoo. Initially we were a little skeptical as the zoo seemed devoid of visitors. I Guess we went during an off peak season/timing and the plus point was that we could take our time to...More

You don't need a guide. The zoo has good information boards and maps, and the whole route is one path so you won't get lost.
