Solid view

Went past here in middle of our hike. Does have a really solid view and a nice spot to take 5-10 minute break.

I think this lookout beats the main one hands down. Apart from being the only one there, the canyon is steep and impressive at this point and (and I know there is some luck here!) I got a great view of 3 condors for a decent length of time. It is only a 10 minute walk (if that) from the... More

Well You can enjoy the Canyon view there, probably alone as the place is not really popular. 15 min by foot from the town, You need to cross old bullfights ring and old football camp. It's the place where you will start your Llahuar trekking route, plus good place to put your tent :)

Along a beated trail is this view of colca canyon. With no-one else about, it was a fine way to take in the peace of the area. Only a short walk from Cabanaconde.

I agree with EdBS that there are many other places where you can find far better views of the canyon however I liked the short hike from the town to this mirador. Be prepared for sudden weather changes that causing the temperature drop dramatically. Take warm cloth especially when you plan to observe condors in the afternoon.

It's just a wooden shack by the side of the canyon, the view is ok but it is not anywhere near the best view of the canyon there are many other places that are far better.

This viewpoint is about 20 min walking from the main square of Cabanaconde and totally worth the trip - especially when your time in Cabanaconde is limited! You can see the oasis and a large part of the river down in the canyon, and with some luck there might even be a condor crossing your way. It is a very... More

Our driver made a stop there and it was amazing. Just us and nature. We stopped twice to absorb the beauty of the Andes. Once in our way to Cabanaconde and at our return. It was hard to leave.

Thanks to some intensiv internet research I found this place very close to the village of Cabanaconde. We went there twice and both times we were completely alone - seing the Condors rising up the Canyon! GREAT!

Aska local how to get there - the directions only take you part of the way. It is a very nice view point and there is a small lookout hut that you can step into for looking around.
