We did Zip Line and Cave Tubing at “Caves Branch Outpost” with AITourNative (“David”) a very honest, licensed & insured local guide. While we were there, we learned that the majority of tourists visit Caves Branch Outpost with their respective tour guides/operators (like us), but it is also possible to independently rent your own car and pay Caves Branch Outpost directly for parking, Zip lining and Cave tubing. (There are also several ‘mom & pop’ vendors at this park that sell craft items and food.) ** Everyone takes American dollars, so don’t worry about currency conversion. (Belize dollars convert to US$ at fixed 2:1 ratio.)

Wonderful time Zip-lining with Steven and Amy. They were great guides to not only assist with out safety but also made the experience enjoyable with laughs.

There were about 6 ropes that range in distance and speed but overall a good experience. We came with Salt Life tours so can't say the price it was included in the package but definitely worth checking out if In Belize City and want to experience nature for a bit.

I brought my family of 13 to Caves Branch for a day of cave tubing. Everyone from the 8yo to the 68yo had a great time! Lot's of good jokes and info shared. And really glad we didn't go on a cruise ship day so we have the caves pretty much to ourselves. Very fun will be back! Thank you!!~

Was my wife and I’s first zip lining experience with my parents. Edwin and Marvin (guides) made us very comfortable at each platform. My wife is not scared of heights, so she had no pretense of being nervous. I on the other hand, wondered how I’d like it. From the time we started, I was never nervous. The instructors were very professional and fun. We had the best time and this is a must do when in Belize! Beautiful views and fun heights!

Super nice guides. Good safety measures. Zipling was fun. Not as high or adventures as Costa Rica, but the kids enjoyed it. Nice little river nearby for kids to play in.

I found a certified guide and went on my own. I did not go with a company and other people. It was a private ride. You can find many guided trips around similar prices, some include food, some don't, some go through more caves, some do one branch, another does another branch. There are basically two main cave branches. I only did one so I cannot tell you the differences. If you have the time and money, go to them both. I suggest going on an off day so there won't be cruise ship people going. Find out beforehand. Also, go through the most caves possible. Some cave tours want to just get in, get out, so they may only pass through a small number, check this out before you go. You want to go through as many caves with less people so that you can hear your voice as you echo, so you can hear silence, so you can feel. My inner tube was tied to the guides, so I could not float away. I picked my rear up to not scrape rocks below. So listen for the heads up, but it is a slow ride, so no worries. You float in nature and look at the cave walls as you pass through them on an inner tube. There are a couple of different types of tubes that are used, so you want to make sure you get the type you desire for the kind of experience you want. Ask which tubes they use and what the differences are. Buy a mosquito net for around your hat to cover your face before you leave home. There are also mosquito repellers and repellants, they are two different things. The repellers can work depending on what you get, there are some that fit on a belt that keep mosquitos away, but I like to use more than one type of gadget, ointment and netting. The mosquito net over the hat to protect the ears is great for any part of tropical travels. There were not too many on the walk down to the river which was beautiful. My guide told me a little about the medicinal plants. He was able to also get some leaves down from an allspice tree. I used them to make a tea when I got back to my room. I floated down the heavenly passage feeling light at a feather. I took my long sleeve water shirt and spring suit. The water was a fine temp, but I don't like to be cold and I had this gear so I used it. I also bought from home waterproof plastic protectors for my wallet, keys and money. This way, I can keep my valuables with me, like in a waste pack and not have to worry about getting things wet. I used that for the ATM cave as well. It is good to have waterproof shoes that have grips on bottom. This is also good for ATM cave. That way, when we got off the inner tubes to have a closer look in one place, I had something to walk with that was already on my feet, waterproof and grippy. We floated from cave to cave and then down the river. There was another group from the hostel that had their own guide. It was cheaper because there were more of them and the guide was a young guide who spent extra time with them as he liked to swim in the water and relax. So, really investigate who you go with. Some guides just want your money. They don't want to spend extra time and they might give you a sob story about how much they need money, etc. You are better off with a happy guide that likes to enjoy nature with you. If it comes with food, find out what that is before you assume. I couldn't eat the food chosen for me. He had forgotten my request, luckily I had some of my own snacks. I heard that there are other cave tubes in other countries nearby, so if you like them, you could try them all. The longest part of the whole trip was getting there. Make sure you are going to be comfortable and bring dry clothes. You cannot do this on your own, you need a certified guide, just like the ATM cave. This is a must do! The time is more than three hours, I don't remember the exact amount, but a lot of it was just spent getting to the site.

We DID have a great time doing the ziplining and cave tubing.....however, it has been over a month since we've returned home and STILL have not received the 6 pictures ( at $10 each!!) that we paid for. I should have been smarter than to pay for something being told I would receive them by e-mail when I would obviously be gone, out of Belize......I have made numerous attempts to call and email the company and no response..in fact all of my emails have bounced back to me as undeliverable....they must have a different "real " email address used only to lure new suckers( I mean customers) in.....I am very disappointed that these are the tricks they play in such a beautiful location....now that I have read other peoples similar posts I realize I will never receive the pictures nor my money back. Shame on you Caves Branch Outpost. And I WILL be reporting this to the tourism board, as I believe you are located on GOVERNMENT land.....I'm sure they would like to know how you operate.

My wife and I did the kayaking and zip-lining with V.I.V. I have reviewed the kayaking under V.I.V. tour.
You can read the other reviews regarding the zip-lining. But I want to emphasize the safety features at Caves Branch Outpost.
The entire site has two cable wires. There are three straps/ropes connecting the participant to the two cable wires. The central strap/rope connects the harness to the bearing system. The bearing system (two sets of bearings) clicks onto the two cable wires. Then another strap/rope connected to the harness was hooked onto center of the lower cable wire as a safety backup. (I am very specific here because I have seen pictures of incorrect connections of the safety strap). Yet anther strap/rope connected to the harness was hooked onto center of the upper cable wire as another safety backup. Therefore, there were three straps/ropes connecting the harness separately to two cable wires. What is important is the two backup safety straps are hooked separately within the two cable wires. I have seen pictures of other zip-lining sites where the backup straps are inappropriately hooked onto the bearing system, not hooked properly within the cable wires.
There were two guides from CBO. One guide was at the receiving end. Another guide was at the sending end. You could see far enough of the entire cable wires at all sessions yourself to ensure no participant was still on the cable wire at the receiving end before you were let go.
I am not a zip-lining fanatic. I am afraid of height. Safety is always my biggest concern. I studied the online video of Caves Branch Outpost before we joined the tour. I want readers of this review to know my wife and I felt very safe.
Caves Branch Outpost emphasizes safety first. Very true. A very enjoyable experience.

Omg! Yesssss! We hired a private guide for our tour... if you can, you can usually get a deal. $100usd for 4. A hike through the jungle, a mystical float through the caves, all brilliant and beautiful! Memories made and never to be forgotten!

They provide the tube, life jacket, helmet and light. All necessary and worth it!

I visited the outpost on a group tour with EF Tours. We were a group of 9 with two adults and 7 teens. The zip lining and the cave tubing was just the relaxing activity that we needed after a long hot day in Belize. Most of all I am writing the review in praise of the photography department. The photographer took over 150 photos of our group to ensure that we got great pictures of everyone. They sent a link to the photos that somehow ended up in my spam box. I remembered the pictures a couple weeks after the trip and the company took the time to re-upload and re send the pictures for me. I would definitely recommend the excursion and the picture package...
