Road that goes up to 4910 meters high and, once up, you have a privileged view of the volcanoes that border Arequipa. Beware of altitude sickness. Normally the local people who accompany you already help you overcome it with various remedies (basically giving you coca or chewing the same coca). Don't worry, it doesn't produce any type of hallucination or, of course, addiction. Follow the instructions. I saw a few people get dizzy. The view is formidable and very worth it. Even though it is so high, you don't need to wear twenty coats. The temperature was pleasant and a sweater was enough.

The stop itself it’s so so, while the whole area has some nice spots while driving through. It was cloudy on the volcano tops, so my experience was not complete. Still the best part of the road.

Another one of those little stops at the side of the road, with a few local lady handicraft traders, offering stunning views of the local landscape. Here the ground is almost like a lunar landscape, featuring lava residues, across to the distant mountains/ volcanoes. here you are 4800 m high (3 miles!) so the air is very thin, and breathing can be difficult unless you are well acclimatised.

The impressions at this viewpoint depend solely upon weather conditions. If it is cloudy, the view is far from stunning. And it is really high altitude (over 4800 meters), so one must consider very well whether their altitude adaptation is sufficient to enjoy the panorama. For us, though we had spent a week at an altitude over 3000 meters for more than a week, it was still quite an exertion.

A place with an incredible view that you will have to enjoy if the altitude allows it (you are still at 4,910m). Remember to cover yourself too. We see volcanoes and mountain ranges. A dream panorama!
