This waterfall is massive! It is a short walk from the lot, but be warned if you have physical issues that there is a decent incline (with stairs) to get to the falls. Try to schedule a visit when the tors aren't there as busloads of people can absolute flood the site.

Gullfoss is a quite spectacular waterfall. Melting glacier water thundering over two cascades into a very narrow gorge was an awesome sight. Because of the mild winter there was not the amount of ice that we were hoping to see but this is certainly a sight to see in either winter or summer. There are three possible view points but... Visiting Iceland is an amazing experience, Some places offers you a breathtaking landscapes view and Gullfoss is one this places. Although it was a bit cloudy weather we were able to enjoy the time there and make a lot of pictures. The waterfall flows down like in a 3 step "staircase" and then abruptly plunges in two stages (11 meters... More

These falls are created by water falling into a rift in the tectonic plates. Stunning views of gushing water. A nice cafe and gift shop are adjacent to the parking lot, and the falls vista point an easy 5 min walk from the parking lot.

Beautiful falls, gorgeous views, excellent photo opportunities. This is a must see! It's a bit of a walk, but nothing excessive (to walk around the site)

Stunning waterfalls, surrounded be snow and ice. Amazing to just stand there and let it sink in. If you re taking yourself there then I advise you take walking boots, as getting through the snow and down the ledges looks like a nightmare with limited grip. Nearby shop seemed alright, from the very quick pop in I had.

Rented a car for our group of 4 to do some day tripping. Gullfoss was the end of our first trip outside Reykjavik. We were pleasantly surprised. The land surrounding the falls is so flat that the drive into the visitor parking is deceptive that a huge water fall is nearby.

These waterfalls take your breath away. To stand and watch the natural splendour of nature in full force is quite remarkable. One top tip for you. Don't use the toilets in the car park as they cost £1.50 each. Go into the gift shop and toilets there are free.
