I've seen a lot of waterfalls during my 2 week trip around Iceland, but Gullfoss is on my top 3 list of waterfalls (in Iceland)! Very easy to reach, spectacular views while walking towards the falls, you get that close that you almost can touch...More

This waterfall is breathtaking. It is so wild and powerful, truly incredible. Never seen anything like this. Some fantastic pics to take. It is worth going

Everyone raves about Gullfoss, but, hmm, yes, it is quite a spectacle, but not that impressive. Hordes of day trippers (of which I was one) jostling each other for a view. If you plan to get up close, take waterproofs. Don't go too close to...More

I'd been mesmerized by Gulfoss in 1998 in freezing cold December temperatures when the wind chill was minus 20. Unfortunately, it was pouring with rain when I got back there 19 years later. The weather may have been miserable but the Gullfoss is still a...More

This water fall was impressive …and lots of tourist here (just like you are) … so getting a picture without people in it is difficult. It was raining the day I was there … good raingear a must (including pants). The mist from the waterfall...More

One of the most stunning waterfalls among many in Iceland. There's a moderate hike on a boardwalk down to the viewing point, and stairs if you'd like to get closer. It's a bit windy and chilly due to the topography around the falls, so dress...More

This is another opportunity to see a very nice Waterfall and the beautiful scenery surrounding it. The day we were there a rainbow appeared over it. It made for a nice picture. If you take a tour of the "Golden Circle" this Stop will be...More

Its a can't miss sight, especially just 10 miles from Geysir, also amazing and fun. We went at night and it was not crowded and full sunlight in July. YOu can walk all around on safe paths. Nice little placards with the history as well.

The sound alone - before you can even see the falls - is overwhelming. You end up feeling so small when you finally see the massive size and flow of these falls. The viewing areas are extensive and you can wander along side the falls...More

Not to be missed. Part of the Golden Circle sites. There are 2 paths one that goes along the top and one that gets a bit closer below. The lower path can be a bit slippery for those less stable on their feet. Free loos...More

Where are you staying? In which town? The Golden Circle is a must-see and it certainly is worth a detour.

We were on the Golden Circle EXPRESS tour which gave us 45 minutes there in very extreme weather. If the weather had been clear, we'd have wanted longer (not least to walk down the route that was closed on the day we were... More
