Who knows. Maybe. So many beauties to choose from, including much less powerful ones than this. Anyway, we arrived in the afternoon and it was pandemonium, as you would expect, incredibly busy, and the weather was miserable (also pretty likely). However, if you can, stay...More

This water fall was pretty impressive, and yes there are lots of tourist here so getting a picture without people in it will be difficult but it can be done. The mist from the waterfall travels a long way, but it was pouring raining and...More

We have only seen the falls in Yosemite, and this one definitely impressed more. A bit crowded because it's so easy to access, but fun nonetheless. If you're not interested in taking in the upper view, I would recommend parking at the lower lot.

Lots of mist and water spraying up, especially if you walk out to the center viewpoint. But the falls are enormous!

Gullfoss are really a spectacular waterfall, absolutely worth seeing. Even though it's a lot of toursts there (I was one of them) it still have some Space and good overview.

We stayed one night and it was a good place to overnight from Reykjavik. It meant you could enjoy the Gullfoss waterfall late in the day once all the tour buses had gone. The room had an electric jug, and there were tissues plus the...More

A fierce waterfall with spray felt from the car park. A short walk down a path takes you right up to it. Only a small roped fence about 2 feet from the edge to stop you going too far, also a bit rocky to climb...More

Definitely must-see in Iceland! Beautiful two-tier waterfall. Only negatives are the long stairways, and the number of flies.

If you can brave the hoards of tourists, this waterfall is incredibly impressive. If you go while it's sunny expect a gorgeous rainbow

A must see in the South of Iceland. We drove from Reykjavik and it was about 1.5 hrs and Geysir is along the way too. I would recommend driving the north route there and south route (Hwy 1) back. Gullfoss is breathtaking / must see....More

How far are the is gulfoss from the reykjavik airport? We arrive at 2pm and then are staying north west but wondering if it is worth driving to see the falls and have a cup of lamb stew and then driving up? What time does it close in mid July? Thanks!

Where are you staying? In which town? The Golden Circle is a must-see and it certainly is worth a detour.

We were on the Golden Circle EXPRESS tour which gave us 45 minutes there in very extreme weather. If the weather had been clear, we'd have wanted longer (not least to walk down the route that was closed on the day we were... More
