It is a gorgeous waterfall and a staple in Iceland however, beware it is quite touristy. Bus loads come, crowds with selfie sticks and the overrated tourist shop. They also charge for toilet use!

It was an awesome site. We were still jet lagged from our flight so we ended up at this place at 3:30am in the morning. There was not another person there so we had the entire place to ourselves. That's one benefit of jet lag....More

Not as high as \Niagara, but no less impressive in its size and volume. Traisl take you up to the top of the falls and then down for a closer look near the bottom . Beautiful from all angles.

This waterfall is amazing to see, there's many waterfalls in Iceland but this one is by far the best as it's huge (a great place for taking pictures) ..... now let's talk about taking pictures there's a walk around 14 min to see the waterfall...More

One of the biggest and most impressive waterfalls we saw in two weeks in Iceland. It is worth seeing, especially if you are limited to visiting the Reykjavik area. Yes, its loaded with day-trippers and its less wilderness like than many others we saw. However,...More

gullfoss waterfall is so mermerizing. You could stand there and look at it for hours. Also make sure you look at it from the top - there are stairs that take you up to the top. A lovely coffee and souveniour shop on top

Wow. This is one gorgeous and impressive waterfall! We went to Gullfoss as part of a bus tour of the Golden Circle, and it was magnificent. A great example of the natural beauty of Iceland, as well as an opportunity to see how this beautiful...More

I've seen a lot of waterfalls during my 2 week trip around Iceland, but Gullfoss is on my top 3 list of waterfalls (in Iceland)! Very easy to reach, spectacular views while walking towards the falls, you get that close that you almost can touch...More

Everyone raves about Gullfoss, but, hmm, yes, it is quite a spectacle, but not that impressive. Hordes of day trippers (of which I was one) jostling each other for a view. If you plan to get up close, take waterproofs. Don't go too close to...More

Where are you staying? In which town? The Golden Circle is a must-see and it certainly is worth a detour.

We were on the Golden Circle EXPRESS tour which gave us 45 minutes there in very extreme weather. If the weather had been clear, we'd have wanted longer (not least to walk down the route that was closed on the day we were... More
