We had a rental car and we spent a day exploring the sights and beauty of the Golden Circle during our recent vacation in Iceland. We were there in early January which means limited hours of sunlight, so we planned to make Gullfoss our last...More
This was one of the most impressive site I have seen. Much better than Niagara! Our visit was during the snow storm and it was majestic. You can view some of the videos on my Instagram handle aligunertem

We were on the Golden Circle EXPRESS tour which gave us 45 minutes there in very extreme weather. If the weather had been clear, we'd have wanted longer (not least to walk down the route that was closed on the day we were there). As it was, the timing worked out ok. I'd definitely recommend that you get the traditional lamb stew with bread rolls at the cafe there. You can refill up to 3 times at no extra cost and it's DELICIOUS!
