I visited here by myself and was pleasantly surprised. It was bigger than I thought it would be and I was worried that the people working there would not speak English. The woman I talked to spoke Hungarian, of course, German and okay English. It costs about 1200 huf ($5-$6) to visit and a bit more for a guided tour. They have pamphlets in English (photo attached). They have 3 building of old clothes, tools, pictures, machinery and presses to make blue dye and design clothes. There is a gift shop with souvenirs that weren’t too badly priced. I bought a blue cloth purse and blue cloth animals (photo attached) for my daughters. Maybe this isn’t the best for very small children but older ones would be good to bring here to explain how the dye and clothes used to be made.

The museum is located in the buildings of a former family-owned bluedye workshop that was producing bluedye from the late 18th century until the mid-20th century. The museum is unique of its kind in the region and is an amazing must see if you're travelling in the Veszprém and Győr area.
Most of the descriptions of the objects are available in both Hungarian and English as well. There's also a computer available where you can "practice" bluedying and play some games related to the bluedye. (That's quite good when you have children with you.) The bluedye manufacture building was preserved as it was on its last active working day, with original 19th century equipment still in place.
The museum is located at a ca. 5-minutes walking time to the city center and there is parking available at the square behind the church across the street. Please note that during working hours of the weekdays and Saturday morning this a paying parking.

Spent few days in Pàpa and visited this unique museum. The exhibition is all about the blue dyeing textile dying and printing technique. We had a wonderful guide during out visit!

Amazing museum. Self guided. Access to 3 buildings and viewing the actual vats that was used to dye the fabrics. Absolutely beautiful! It makes you really appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating these textiles. Very nice gift shop.
