This is a lovely church and sits impressively on the square. Worth a visit in late afternoon for the golden light. The large interior doors feature beautiful carving and small mirrors. Quiet and peaceful place to pray or reflect.

Paid a visit to the church and monastery on the morning we were set to leave Mongui and it was very impressive. On the Saturday in opened at 10am and entrance is 10000 COP. Inside the monastery, there is a beautiful planted courtyard surrounded by wonderful stone arches and brickwork. The downstairs area hosts many different rooms displaying antique religious paintings, and there’s also a good amount of information on display regarding the history of the town itself, and the different traditions you can expect to find there. The upstairs area also has interesting rooms, including the original dining room and kitchen which have antique furniture on display. Definitely worth visiting for an hour or two if you are in Mongui.
