    Wonderful Stunning Freezing
A beautiful place, truly gorgeous. Totally weather dependent though,, obviously. We went and the Heavens opened. While they opened, Stonehaven closed. The biting , bracing, teeth clenching wind was the final nail in the coffin. A shame, disappointed not to see more.

    Beautiful location
This harbour forms part of the beautiful coastal area of Stonehaven. We walked the length of the front enjoying the views of the boats and the beach. There are some lovely historic buildings to enjoy, along with some warm sunshine that made things even better. A place we will definitely be returning to.

    Stonehaven and Dunnottar Castle
Stonehaven was a delightful place to spend a day. It was an enjoyable train journey from Aberdeen. I took the walk around to Dunnottar Castle. Be sure to have appropriate footwear on, sun protection and take water.

Very attractive , quaint little harbour. Car park is small but close to the quay and toilets.
Some ot the eating places were closed and others a little bit pricey but more options in town.
Scenery quite stunning and attractions like Dunnotar castle just a short walk away.

A picturesque little harbour with a board walk back towards the town centre, featuring some very funny sculptures of fishing boats and light houses where people have been replaced by fish and sea creatures. An unexpected highlight of our walk.

Check out Cafe Noir near the harbour for some excellent crepes.

Had a loely evening in Stonehaven. Took advantage of the fine weather and parked at the Breakies which s free parking. Took a walk along the beach on the boardwalk which was festooned with sculpture. Highly recommended. Will visit again.

I visited Stonehaven on a cold wet day. I wandered around the shops for a short time then found myself in the market square. 1230 and the stalls were all being packed away. Pretty poor doo really. I looked at the cafes for something to eat but nothing suitable for my diet. Too many pies, chips, paninis and sandwiches. No proper food like salads or pasta etc. I ended up having a pie from greggs which I knew I shouldn't have had as it made me ill for the rest of the day. Totally ruined the day for me. I walked along the promenade to the harbour. A nice little walk. The harbour was quite nice but again the rain spoiled it. When it eventually stopped I walked along the cliff to the war memorial and the castle. It's a long way up hill and in the rain terrible. As I was at the top I carried on to the castle to find it was all downhill again to reach it then would have had to go all the way back up. Freezing cold, absolutely wet through and thoroughly miserable. Traipsed all the way back to the town. Dripping wet and in pain from lack of proper food. Not a place I will ever be revisiting. Probably a lot better on a nice day but fortunately for me I won't be trying it again. Saying that though this town was one of the better ones I have visited in the past week on my travels around Aberdeenshire.

This is a nice , well looked after harbour and the surrounding area also. some areas were being restored and renovated at the time of our visit but this did not detract us.

nice walks , excellent chip shop (see other review) and there is even a award winning heated pool ! sadly closed as it was off season.

Definitely worth a visit

This old harbor has been the home of fishing boars and recreational boaters since the 1800s. It is peaceful and the locals love people to come and visit. Walking around the Auld Toon adjacent to the harbor is fun and shows how little these coastal villages have changed through the years. I love walking on the boardwalk from the harbor over to the beach and along the coast. It is dog and kid friendly.

This place with lots of expensive shops and outlets needs cleaning and pollution free environment for locals and visitors.
