The beach has quite a bit of sea grass. You need to stick close the cliff sides to see the fish. We went on a rough sea day so it was a little scary. The guides gave us fresh coconuts and we drank the milk. Hiked a short distance to the cave where we saw bats, huge whip spider &... More

We went here with our 1 yr old last weekend. We have a carrier for him. We asked at our hotel how to get there and it was about a 45 min hike through the hills. the path is a little overgrown and goes by lots of banana farms. Three are actually 2 beaches by this name and we were... More

My wife and I and two other tourists were robbed at machete point today at Playa Madama. The beach is very beautiful and the snorkeling is good, but I would be VERY careful about going by foot in a small group. We walked down from the big tourist sign pointing the way to Playa Madama. A beautiful walk, through banana... More

Spent a short time snorkeling here as part of the three beach excursion from Grand Paradise Samana. As for snorkeling, nothing spectacular, but beautiful setting and enjoyable visit

This beach is best accessed by boat, but there is a trail to it so I have been told. I think it takes about 1and half hours from the Grand Paradise resort and have been told it is not for the faint of hart.

We enjoyed the hiking to this beach more than the beach itself. The hiking is beautiful, not too hard and with lots of interesting flora and fauna to see (if you are into this kind of thing). The beach itself is nice, but there were 6 other people and it felt crowded. We brought our snorkeling gear and we only... More

Traveled there by boat. It was pretty, but not something I would devote an entire day to again. If you're looking for remote, Playa Rincon is better and gives you miles of beach to choose from and find a "private" spot.

Most folks reach this small sandy secluded beach by hiring a small boat. It is worth the trip. This beach has been featured in Argentine and Colombian versions of Survivor.

This beach is boring. Much better place ist the playa fronton or even better playa rincon, which is one of most beautiful beaches in the world and i can confirmed it. Playa Madama is too small for anything and little dirty around. There are just few nice rocks nearby where the tides are hitting, but nothing special.
