About
Wine Tasting at Fattoria Betti EVERY FRIDAY: tour of the vineyards, visit to the cellar, wine tasting and small buffet. The cellar was founded at the beginning of 1900 in Montalbano, a small territory in the Tuscany region that holds, still intact, all the noble characters of these ancient lands: romantic parish churches and small medieval villages with their towers, extended olive groves and vineyards, dotted by solitary cypresses, elegant and magnificent Medici villas close to laborious farmlands, in the waft of Leonardo da Vinci discrete genius. The vineyards of Fattoria Betti are grown on clay soil, located 150-200 metres above sea level. Mostly the vineyards are planted to Sangiovese, Cabernet, Trebbiano, Canaiolo Nero and Merlot. They are cultivated using the cordon and the Tuscan single-arched cane systems, and processed through partial grassing and organic fertilizers. Once optimum ripeness is achieved, all grapes are hand harvested and meticulously sorted. Our wines are the result of a deep passion and pride for our splendid territory. We combine modern technologies with the ancient art of winemaking, taking particular care to express regional fruit characteristics with the subtle use of oak. OUR AIM IS STRAIGHTFORWARD: To produce a limited number of bottles applying the greatest possible care and constantly improving, year by year.

Exceptional wine tasting experience that would be recommended to everyone that looks for something non-touristy. Very interesting educational programme together with an excellent wines. Also you can purchase wines for a very good price. An absolute hidden gem in Tuscany.

We were scheduled for a wine tasting, and an unexpected conflict meant that our guide was unable to be there. Guido, the owner and operator of the vineyard, was the host during our visit, and it made our visit even more special. We enjoyed a personal tour, an amazing wine tasting, and a family style lunch prepared by his mother. The wine is excellent and we purchased a case during our visit as well as several bottles of his olive oil. Guido even has an affordable option to ship to the US. A visit is not to be missed and it will give you an authentic Tuscan experience!

I used previous postings on Tripadvisor to find this gem. Staying at a villa a short distance away I was delighted to find that Fattoria Betti offered tours of their vineyard and tastings in the winery. Booking a place for my family was simple with Laura, who took the tour, replying swiftly by email. The tour was conducted in English, with the group consisting of people from Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg and ourselves from Wales. Laura took us for an informative tour, with questions answered in however much detail required. A choice of lunch is offered, but is generally locally sourced cured meats and cheese, salad and bread and their own olive oil (vegetarians are catered for if needed). The tastings were also informative and wine offered generous. My whole family enjoyed the experience. There were young children in the wider group and one baby - the age range was from 1 to 70. Sales of the wine was offered, but there was no "hard sell" - there was no minimum required purchase. Overall the visit was most enjoyable. I would recommend this tour for those looking for something different.

This is a small winery that's been in the family since the 19th century. It was actually closed on a day we were trying to visit but the owner was very kind and accommodated us for a private tour and tasting. Great wines and a wonderful very informative tour. Highly recommend!!

The tour was easy to arrange via email with Laura before we left the UK. She also booked our taxis to pick us up, taking us directly to the vineyard which took any stress out of the arrangements. We were in italy for our wedding and did not need any additional stress!
We were the only guests during our visit, and Laura had an excellent knowledge of the production, harvest and everything to do with making wine. Very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English.
I would recommend the tour to everyone. We had an enjoyable afternoon, children were welcome and the food was lovely!
Thank you Laura.

My wife and I visited Fattoria Betti in late September. Setting up the visit and communicating (despite my not speaking Italian) could not have been easier. Laura responded quickly to my email and to all follow up emails.
I cannot imagine a better wine tasting experience. We toured the grounds, talking about the grapes, the olive orchard, history of the property, and more. Afterward, we were welcomed into the tasting area with a spread of artisanal bread, local cured meats and pecorino cheese, and olives from the estate. We had a vertical tasting of all their wines as well as the olive oil. We discussed everything from wine to travel to the fact that Laura has an affinity for the same cocktail as my wife (as we drove away my wife joked that she was "her new best friend in Italy)...The entire experience was divine. We could have stayed for hours and hours.
Warm, authentic, polished, friendly...these are only a few of the superlatives that would describe the experience. As the caption says---HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very nice place with a great tour and even better wines! Thanks laura, we really enjoyed it! Advise for other travellers: make sure you have enough space in your car for all the bottles you want to bring home!
