It a village that did so much locally for Federally interned Japanese during WW2, the focus is in confinement and not on humanity, which was there too. The images are sad but also show healthy, clean, well dressed internees. I wish someone would write a...More

Good presentation of the Japanese story in Kaslo. Liked the casual display of photos, interpretation and artefacts on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the nicely-restored Langham Centre.

Kaslo was one of the places that Japanese-Canadians were interned during World War II. This small museum has excellent photos and displays showing this sad history, and reminding us of how easy it is to slip into racism and xenophobia.

There is amazing pictures, so much history to be read. The building was all renovated you could just feel the people there as you walked around and read about them.

Well worth a visit... It gives you an understanding of what happened to Japanese people being relocated to the West Kootenays during WW2
