If you are in Jaisalmer, then must go here. The hotelier booked the package desert safari at very nominal rate Rs 1000/- per head. 30 minute Gipsy ride in the desert dunes, shooting points. Then camel ride to sunset point. Lastly, campfire, folk dance, magic show etc. Drinks were available on payment basis. Enjoyed.

The Palace on Wheels train journey through Rajasthan organised our camel ride perfectly. We drove to the sand dunes of Sam in the late afternoon, the two of us had a 35 minute ride on a camel named lucky who sauntered up and ran down the dunes, then we dismounted at a cafe for tea overlooking the desert to the... We travelled all the way from jodhpur to Sam for sand dunes, but i saw dunes on the way even before half the way through. You dont need to travel so far for that. Its just a rat race to specially go there. No specific special facility, views to look for

A great part of the Thar deserts in India. If Goa is for Sea, Gulmarg is for Snow..... Then Sam Sand Dunes is definitely for the Sand & Deserts. Your visit and tour to Rajasthan is incomplete without visiting this place. The presence of a number of facilities in resorts and deserts camping have made this place a heaven for... More

You can also witness marks of war with neighbours during 1970s nearby. Most of the resorts for stay overnight are not very good quality but there... More

We drove 50 KM away from Jaisalmer towards the western border of Rajasthan with Pakistan. We stopped at the Sam San Dunes to begin our camel ride for 30 minutes on the sand dunes. The sunset was magnificent and the local musicians enchanting tunes complete this memorable experience. Lots of children trying to sell us spring water and canned beer.... More
