Lovely walk
Nov 2021 • Couples
What a lovely walk. Very easy 4 miles. Pathed all round. Nice roomy car park with very clean well maintained toilets not like our local res where you sometimes have to nip behind a tree lol.
We found our selfs in Harrogate for a concert
So we was dogless. They would have loved it. We will have to call again with them. X

Lovely place to walk
Jul 2021
We regularly walk around this reservoir. Gorgeous views. There are lots of benches to stop and take it all in.

Nice long walk. We walked round them both. Not much duck life But we did see a female black redstart which is a rarity. Oystercatchers loads of thrushes. Nice day

Great walk, but avoid weekends
May 2021
This is a superb walk around the reservoir. It’s picturesque, relatively flat, and has a good path. It’s great for walking the dogs. However at weekends, especially since lockdown, the place is very crowded, and many people do not observe the social distancing rules. The car parks are full very quickly.

Go during the week, enjoy the quiet, and treat yourself to a Yorkshire Dale’s ice cream from the kiosk in the car park

Stunning circular walk - about 2 hours
Nov 2020
Near to Harrogate, this is a beautiful walk and picnic area. It is a gentle walk with just a few ups and downs, and will probably take a couple of hours.

Soggy walk!
Nov 2020
Good car park which was busy on a pre-lockdown drizzly Tuesday so I imagine it would be very busy in the summer. Toilets were locked (due Covid-19 I assume). Picnic tables available. Easy to follow path around the reservoir, a bit soggy in places but it had been a very wet October.

Great walking area
Nov 2020
Couldn’t seem to get right round, lots of mud on “very well maintained paths”!

We had planned to walk round the reservoir, 3.7 miles as per the guide book but the path only seems to go round half of it and drops you out at the other end on the A59. The paths were described as well-maintained but there were a number of very muddy and water logged stretches. Some good views of the tress on the far bank
