We have traveled extensively and would say this is one of the top five tours we have ever been on. . We weren’t sure of what to expect of Trieste but found it to be a beautiful, friendly compact city. Elbrich was our tour guide. She was fun, Knowledgeable and had no issues with being spontaneous. We experienced the end of a wedding in one of the church’s and waited outside for the bride and groom to walk out. We learned much history of the city- the Roman era, conflicts with Venice, and the world wars. Trieste was a region controlled by the Allies post World War 2 until a decision was made for it to be a part of Italy. That created uncertainty so post war reconstruction was delayed. At the end of our tour, when I got out my wallet by the Grand Canal a bora wind blew my cash onto the square. People rapidly collected most of the money but some ended up in the water. My wife and I unsuccessfully tried to retrieve it. Elbrich went beyond the call of duty, Climbed down a short ladder and with her sandals still on, captured all of the remaining bills with her foot! The tour was like walking with a friend who we had known for years. Fantástico as they would say in Italian.…

Sonia is an outstanding guide who loves and understands the beautiful region of her birth. Her knowledge of the history of the Fruili region makes the charming medieval city of Cividale come alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Sonia and hope to return soon

We contacted Sonia to arrange a private, one day wine tour for two of us to Friuli and the nearby Slovenian wine country. It took a while for her to get back to us but, we were really glad we waited for her response, because she does and exceptional job. Knows the area, knows the people, has the right contacts, and was a real pleasure to spend the day with. She also helped us arrange a day trip from Trieste to the Istrian Peninsula and a tour/transfer from Trieste to Ljubljana and Zagreb with another good agency.…
