Walk of a 1h30 with a local Karen Guide. You pay 220 THB (€ 6) for your own group (max 10 people).
You walk a beautiful trail down past a waterfall and rice fields. The Guide also points out snakes, spiders, ...
The end point is the Karen village where you get a nice coffee and banana.
In the village they don't force anything on you.
To return, you can choose between walking back along the road alone or letting yourself be driven back for 150 THB (€ 4).
You can also only walk to the waterfall and then return on foot (one hour there and back), but the walk to the end point is really worth it.

Well worth the drive from Chiang Mai to get there and the hike to the falls. You will need a local guide to get there, best arranged through one of the many tour companies. If you have a day to spend in nature though, this is a very good choice. Loved the setting, the power and serenity of the river and just being there.
