This historical place is ample and serene. Suitable for relaxing, wandering around, enjoying the view of Gulf of Thailand, and taking some photos. No wonder King Rama V built his palace here!
Pity that museum and cafe were closed at the time we visited due to Covid pandemic.

It's a very nice palace of King Rama V, a rehabilitation place for the royal family at that time. Now it becomes a museum, exhibiting the history of the place and King Rama V and his family. There is a temple which looks like a church on the hill, a statue of King Rama V, a pagoda, a stone which sounds like a bell when you hit it, several ponds, bridges, and 4 buildings, scattering on the hill and down to the seaside. Very charming and highly recommended to visit. You should prepare to walk for quite a long way to admire everything there and usually it would take a few hours. There is a small coffee house there where you can sit, relax, and enjoy watching the sea after the walk, as well as a long, beautiful bridge leading to the pier. Complimentary entrance, no admission fee. Closed on every Monday.

Phrachudadhuj Palace Museum is only one the royal palace on island (Koh Sri Chang, Chon Buri province)! It is a Rama 5's Royal Palace which build in 1889. Now It be Museum and beautiful place for take photo like at Atsadang Bridge. If you like natural and classic building you don't missed visiting very nice place. In addition, This place is Vimanmek Mansion used location. So when you visit Grand palace and Vimanmek Thron and travel to Pattaya, Don't remember visiting here by boat only 45 minute (take bus to Sri Racha (Koh Loi) and buy boat ticket 50 baht). Then you will known Thailand and enjoy traveling more you think

The only island palace ever built in Thailand by King Chulalongkorn in 1889. Now the park is partly rebuilt after the French occupation, and when after the King decided to have the palace rebuilt in Bangkok instead on the island. The site is free to enter, the house to visit are full of posters and history also documented in English. It is lovely to walk the grounds and go to the royal pier built and self-financed by the King. Beautiful location and one can spend a good time there. Highly recommended.

This location once held the summer palace of King Rama V, but many of the buildings are now gone.
There are a few pavilions still standing that you can walk through, and you can wander the old gardens. There are gardeners constantly cleaning up, but much of the park has become poorly kept.
The chedi at the top of the hill is the one highlight for a visit. It is beautifully kept, clean and white.

The formerly royal summer palace of King Rama V was still well maintained by Chulalongkorn University. Although the main palace is no longer here as it was moved to build the famous Vimarnmek Palace in Bangkok, you can still visit the smaller pavilions nearby including a small wat and chedi.
The park itself is also very nice and quite. You can spend half day here, browsing this historic place.

We didn't know there was an aquatic animal display. It is really worth seeing and admission is free, as it was to the palace! Unexpectedly, you are not required to wear a skirt or long trousers or proper shoes, as long as it's not a swimsuit, you're OK to enter! The buildings are so pretty. One has a coffee shop. The walk up to the viewpoint is nice with ancient trees.

A great place to spend some time. A beautiful park like area and lots of nice photo spots. A king Rama 5 memorial inside the area, a hiking path and a nice viewpoint. All in all a great place to hang out.

Do you have to wear long trousers/skirt/long sleeves/proper shoes or sock under sandals as at other royal palaces?

It was not open when we were here last falI, but I would definitely wear respectful clothes here and in the surroundings.
