    Beautiful Sussex coastal village setting
Bosham located around 20 minute drive from Chichester. Great for a winter day visit but sure it’s mobbed in the summer. There is a fairly large pay display car park by the Quay with public toilets. Nice walk all around the bay with some great views. Few cafes and pubs to seek shelter on a day trip/visit.

    Quaint olde worlde village ...
What quaint village to visit ... the tide floods the high-street twice a day so pick your visiting time carefully. It was interesting to see how the local architecture adapts to the location ... lots of the house doors start 2 foot above the road to prevent flooding. There are a couple of local shops, a few cafe's and a pub. The views out to the river are lovely.

    Mesmerizing, beautiful, location,
Mesmerizing, beautiful, location, even in the chill wind, but basking in the watery Spring sunshine. Enchanting rural views across the Bosham Channel. Unsurprisingly, there was hardly any other visitors, except for perhaps, the swans looking for a handout. It is a lovely walk around the Waterfront, and Bosham's small quay, past centuries old buildings, but we were always looking out the estuary. Two buildings stand out, the headquaters of the local sailing club at the Old Mill, wth its warning of not parking in crtain places due to flooding. The other building is the Raptackle. This grade 2 listed wooden barnlike building, dates from the C18th, when Bosham was an important small port, back then it was a formerly used as a commercial warehouse, and for the storage of sailing gear. This is a lovely place to wander, and has a number of cafes and pubs just a few hundred yards away.

    Interesting place to visit
A lovely place to visit. The only sad thing to see, were all the houses with amazing views sitting empty. It really sucks the heart out of a place. We drove to Itchenor and took the ferry across to Bosham and walked to the village. A great way to spend a day.

    A beautiful place to visit
Bosham is a small village on the West Sussex coast as part of Chichester Harbour. It really is a beautiful place to visit. The harbour itself is very attractive, whether the tide is in or out. The tides move in or out fast so you have to take this into account should you walk around the coast. Sometimes you might see a car which is in the sea where someone has parked near the water. The houses are very attractive and you will see some have brickwork fitted to stop the sea entering the gardens. The church is very attractive to see both outside and inside. The Anchor Bleu pub is also attractive and serves a good selection of meals as well as drinks. Other cafes are available and the shopping centre has a very interesting selection of items to both look at or buy. There’s a very nice ice cream shop too. There is also a sailing club here. Views over the sea can be beautiful in all directions. A pay for car park is available in the village. There are toilets here too.

A lovely part of Chichester Harbour with winding narrow streets to explore and a lovely church. There are a few shops , pubs and cafes . Parking is alongside the shoreline (when low tide), but the inexpensive nearby Pay & Display is recommended.
Enjoyable second visit.

Unfortunately the tide was out when we visited so we were not able to see the unique features of the village when the sea laps the cottages and the boats were grounded in the mud rather than bobbing up and down. We walked around the quay in less than half an hour (there was an easterly wind) and spent the remaining time in the craft centre which had high quality items made of wood, glass and metal and a decent cafe serving homemade cakes etc. The public car park is well signposted and not expensive. It’s worth a visit if you are passing.

It was a treat to stroll the shoreline enjoying the bird life and yachting activities and we did well to make an early start, for by the time we left, visitor numbers had increased. The views are spectacular, and at low tide you can cross from one side to the other on a causeway which is fun. Ever changing scenery and friendly chats with early day dog walkers added to our enjoyment.

We went to Bosham on 17th March by bus from Chichester .Lovely village which has roads which get flooded at high tide.we were there midday and ate at great local pub at 1pm .After meal we wandered around the Quay for a couple of hours exploring and crossed from one side of bay to the other on path that is under water at high tide.We felt like Moses crossing the Red sea ! Bosham is a must visit area.We visited The Spit West Wittering next day that was great as well .Different places have different attractions we enjoyed both visits .Variety is the spice of life!

We visited here twice. Once when it was overcast with the tide out and once when it was sunny/blue skies with the tide in. What a different experience each time! Each experience brilliant for different reasons. It is a fascinating place and beautiful and quaint. On the second visit when the tide comes in a lot of swans and geese came to the waters edge, prob alt used to getting fed. We had a roast dinner in a local pub which was delicious. Great place to visit

Wow, what a pretty spot. Whilst you can temporarily park at low tide by the water’s edge be sure to move to the Pay & Display at high tide or risk testing the waterproofing of your car. Such a pretty and quaint spot with great food and drink venues such as the The Anchor Bleu.

We simply love coming to Bosham and enjoy the Quay area with all its history, views and atmosphere. We park in the main car park and walk down past the shops and along the sea front. Many people park down in this area but it is a dangerous practice as when the tide comes in the road outside Anchor Bleu is covered in water. We have been here a few times now and just enjoy the tranquillity and the marvellous walks and views on offer. The historic old ancient church stands proudly overlooking the tidal estuary. We found time to sit on the benches near the waters edge and the costal wall area and just watched the world tick by. In no time at all the tide started edging back in. Certainly worth a visit if you have never been before.

A delightful village that we have visited many times and have never tired of. The Saxon Church, the quay, the tea room by the slip and the local craft centre add to the walks around the harbour with its views. The upper creek setting was the inspiration for the start of the thriller 'A Cast of Hawks'.
