If you saw the walls of this ex monastery ,you will be wondering how do they do it ? the width is about a feet and a half ,the views are incredible ,the Museum by itself is worth the visit .
45 min outside of the north part of Mexico City on your way to the Teotihuacan Pyramids is a no miss if you are going that way maybe you need to stay and other day it might be to much with the Teotihuacan visit for kids...there is a little Hostel Casa Roa that gave us a guided tour with a discount ,with our own personal guide .
Lots of fun, for those that like a little out of the typical tourist path..

I and a group of girls and our Spanish teacher from high school visited this site on our way out to the Pyramids. It had not been restored but was quaint with grayed walls. The frescoes were brilliant even without restoration. It was a highlight of our trip. I will never forget the experience. We were the only ones inside and relished being "discoverers".
Cannot finish this review since I cannot fill in the year, 1949, visited.

Not far from Teotihuacan, this old convent is well worth visiting. The original artwork is mostly intact.

This is a small, historical church tucked away in Acolman, en route to Teotihuacan Pyramids from Mexico City.
This has a rich history and seems to have historical importance in the fact that this was one of the earlier missionary sites in the area surrounded by a populace indigenous natives. The beauty of the church is reflected in the fact that it has a very cognizable mixture of European architecture and indigenous natives' craftsmanship. This is also visible in a small cross constructed right across the road from the church which is indeed fascinating.
A bit off the track from the regular tourist routes, but definitely worth a stop!

Acolman ex-convent was a gem in the town. It was built in the 16th century and when I came to cisit the convent, Its still intact and well preserved. The entrance is $60 butbits all worth it.

More a fortification than a convent, front and inside interesting. Several similar convents in the region, but this one looked best.

You will be rewarded with an interesting bit of history. This convent was abandoned due to the mod and water a flood from the Texcoco lake, now mostly dry, that filled it. Unfortunately we missed the free guided visit.
