Nobody knows there is a museum in the middle of the city! Imperceptible and silence as a ghost. When you step the garden of the museum you will feel that you are not in the city. After going inside the building you feel you are in a different place far away from the city. The material in the museum are mostly from 1920s when the Turkish fight years before Republic of the Turkey were founded. I love old rovelvers! There are also Bizantium frescos.

The museum was closed when I visited a few days ago for some renovation, but the staff were unable to say for how long. No information available online either. They still let you take a look at the garden, which holds a modest collection of sarcophagi and gravestones. Many of them seem to have been discovered during rescue excavations. Not much description of the exhibited items. One of the few local museums of its kind in Turkey with brochures available, and even antiquity-inspired comic books ("Iustus the gladiator" and "Plinius the governor of Bithynia")!

A small museum in the bazaar of Sakarya, close to the center. Archaeological artifacts such as sarcophagi and tombstones will welcome you in the garden. When you enter, historical artifacts from many periods are exhibited in the glass case.

Although the museum is quite small, it was an informative and fun trip for me and my friends.

I wish you a good trip…
