I caught the boat out from Kilmore Quay on 5/6/2018. Declan Bates operates two boats, 20 mins each way, the boats left at 10 am and returned at 3pm. Great day, saw Puffins and the Garnet colony. I had good wet weather gear, mainly for...More

We took a boat from Kilmore Quay to the Saltee Islands, leaving at 12 and returning at 4.30. It’s a private island so visitors are only allowed on from 11.30 to 4.30pm. The back of the island is full of sea birds. We saw Gannets...More

If you enjoy rugged, celtic magic feeling, then this is a must.. Just off the Quay of Kilmore.. Kilmore Quay is incredibly quaint with whitewashed thatched cottages, fishermen bringing their catch into small harbour, lovely fish & chip shops & a couple of restaurants..

Have been to the Saltees twice and on both occasions the weather has been gorgeous. The boat trip over can be a bit choppy and you can get wet if you sit in the wrong place. I sat right by the door of the driver...More

A very nice easy hike, crystal clear water and a bird photographers dream. Ferry is very small only 12 people at a time so book early. This is a must see for nature lovers and or photographers.

This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first 2 yrs ago. Likewise the weather was equally spectacular and that's why it was magical. Getting there: We drove from Dublin that morning, to Kilmore Harbour. It took 2hrs. I had...More
