    Fantastic spa!
We have visited a LOT of spas in the Midlands and I must say this is by far the best experience we’ve had. Welcoming staff, fantastic facilities and food. Hot drinks, breakfast, lunch and afternoon cakes all included in a spa day. Also a lovely touch with the reusable tote bag. I had a scrub treatment which was great and very reasonably priced on offer. We have always felt quite underwhelmed after other spa visits, as the pictures look amazing but when you get there it’s smaller, cramped and not really a spa experience. However, we were very much impressed with the Fairlawns and will certainly be back.
Thank you for your really kind reviewed, we are so pleased you enjoyed all the aspects of your day. We are so delighted you were impressed and will work hard to ensure your next visit lives up to these wonderful expectations. We do hope this is soon! Warmly, Victoria

Lovely Spa Day - Great For Vegans
I went on my first spa day experience ahead of my wedding at Fairlawns. It was excellent from start to finish. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and we got more than we expected. They catered really well to my mum who is vegan and even made her a fresh pastry. The pool was lovely and quiet & it was easy to get some loungers together. The aqua bed included in our package was nice & relaxing too. One of our highlights was the outdoor hot tub. It was brilliant! So nice to have these outside (it was covered if it rained). There was so much to do & lots of rooms to explore. We found the time went so fast. Lunch was really lovely! The coleslaw was a stand out. My mum could pretty much eat everything except 2 of the skewers which she loved. Also the afternoon snacks were so tasty. Michelle especially was lovely to us & my mum. Nothing was too much trouble. We had such a relaxing & great day. I will definitely be back!
Thank you for such a special review and we are so pleased you had a relaxed day in the run up to your wedding and that all the team, especially Michelle looked after you so well. We are pleased to read you had a great experience in the facilities and we wish you the most wonderful wedding day with us, warmly, Victoria

I had a spa day with a massage treatment and was really excited after seeing so many positive reviews. However, was left disappointed by a few things.

Overall, the spa has some really nice facilities, with recently built extension housing a salt room, steam room and jacuzzis.

However the space used for dining/drinks is so small and claustrophobic. No natural light and really cramped. As is the changing room, theres very little space to change. There is also nowhere with comfortable seating to lounge on after your treatment as I am used to at other spas.

The lady who did my massage was excellent, clearly very experienced. However, I was really disappointed that she wore gloves as it affected my enjoyment. There was no warning that gloves would be used before booking. I’ve had several massages recently and no one else wore gloves.

Buffet lunch (although served plated) was tasty and plentiful.

Its very much just okay. I wouldn’t go back as I think there are other better spas locally.

I am pleased to advise we have now removed the restriction (recommended by the government at the time) and are pleased the therapists do not wear gloves as standard any longer, thank you for your understanding here of our covid restrictions and sorry it led you to being let down. We do have up to date spa day information for any guest visiting published with confirmations, guests with any concerns please email us a and we will be happy to send you expected guidelines. Booked a romantic night away. Booked the four poster executive room thinking it's the best room they do. We arrived and went up to our room and that's where the romantic night ended. The room hadn't been hovered, grass, and bits of rubbish all over the floor, hairs around the sink, sofa covered in crumbs and hair, the fridge was full of mould clearly never been cleaned in months, couldnt believe it. The tv above the bed didnt work, half the channels wouldnt come on, channels like ITV basic! I had paid £260 for one night and expected more. We complained and was told this wasnt there normal standard however there wasn't another room available like we had booked. They could move us but would be a downgrade. Offered a free bottle of prosecco and told to go somewhere while they clean the room and fix the telly. Where am I meant to go? Really unfortunate, had booked this since before Christmas. Surely a month was long enough to clean before we came? The only good thing I can say is the manager lady who dealt with us was a lovely person and good at her job. We had a refund and came home. Weekend ruined. Book at your own risk is my advice.

We are all extremely disappointed that a few mistakes from a really valued member of our housekeeping team led to such disappointment and upset. Ultimately myself and the team share responsibility for the mistakes and regret them. We will learn and develop from this experience in the same way we always have at Fairlawns. I am sorry that Emily's efforts, which were far more reasonable and generous than you detail, and which hoped to rectify the situation did not suit you. Had you given us a little bit more benefit of doubt I think you would have found us capable of putting things right for you. We are a fair team who respect the hospitality element of our job, understand that we are not above making mistakes and are fair/reasonable when it comes to owning up to them.

Booked Cedar room for 25 guests st a cost of £150 for room hire with additional charge for refreshments. No choice of what to have, had to be buffet at £23.75 per person. This included a small glass of wine/juice on arrival and tea/coffee but a very small portion of food really the portion fit only for a child. Room and staff were pleasant but I would advise to look elsewhere even though convenient gor Streetly crem.

Thank you Julie for your feedback. We are pleased you found the room and the team pleasant, thank you. We do take all feedback on board and always hope to offer value to our guests we are sorry you did not feel this was the case. There is of course a cost to providing a facility, setting it up and staffing it for the afternoon, and in this circumstance the price includes a glass of wine or an alternative as a welcome drink, a served buffet with a selection of eight savoury items, brownie dessert plus tea and coffee. We will continue to work hard to offer facilities for such important occasions and thank you for choosing Fairlawns.

We were welcomed with a glass of champagne which of course was the choice of the Host. We were shown to our various tables and found that there was a fork and soup spoon at the side of our plate. We wondered what was to follow - a small plate which looked as though it had butter in moulds. We were later advised that these were mini quiches, the pastry being black! We were then served with soup which was tasteless and luke warm. We were told at the quiche was to be eaten with the soup. There was a 3 tier stand on each table and over a period of 20 minutes this was filled with a different plate of food. The top tear was sandwiches, second tier cheese scones with yoghurt and chutney and the bottom tier had a selection of small cakes. There was however plenty of coffee available. Not sure that I would be in a hurry to return.

Visited the spa on a last minute booking and were not disappointed. We travelled to visit and will definitely return in the future. It was worth the journey!

The spa was immaculately clean and the staff welcoming and helpful. There were a good range of facilities and we were impressed with the value for money compared to other spas we have visited. The food was fantastic quality and the portions were substantial. We loved that breakfast and afternoon tea were catered for - a lovely touch which sets this spa apart! The carrot cake cupcake was delightful!

When we arrived straight away we were put at ease with a welcome from very attentive and enthusiastic staff. The beautiful fluffy robes and towels in our lockers (that we did not need a pound for!) were well prepared and could be exchanged at any point if were too wet throughout our experience. Was nice to have 2 towels so we could keep a dry one in our locker for a shower after. Throughout the day we were treated to pastries, croissants and fruit for brunch, tasty meats and salads which were filling and fresh and ending with cakes, scones and fruit. We could have got drinks through out and water fountains were around to keep hydrated. Two of us were vegan and were treated to alternative milk, vegan croissants, a vegan platter and even vegan cakes. They really accommodated us and we were really looked after. The treatment rooms were clean, not busy and lots to do and relax in. The jacuzzis outside were especially good due to them being under cover but hot even though it was December it felt really refreshing, so it felt like you were somewhere exotic rather than just off the Chester road! We experienced the mud Rasule chamber which was so much fun and our skin felt so soft after. The staff could not do enough for us and a special mention to the chef who did all our food as well as all the staff who made our experience. Thank you to the fairlawns and we will definatley be back very soon.

I've been to this spa a few times and it never disappoints. The facilities are lovely and the hot tubs have now been added which is even better.
The pool area is nice and relaxing but I don't swim in there as the water is way too cold for me.
I love the sauna and the steam rooms, there's now a salt room too which is really relaxing.
The food here is lovely and they prepared a vegan meal as part of my lunch buffet which was great.
The treatments can be a bit pricey but I've never had a bad treatment here.
Well worth the money for a spa day.

It may not be the biggest or most glamorous, but Fairlawns provides a great value, high quality spa day experience.
Treatments are excellent. Massages by experienced therapists who really listen to your needs.
Service in the dining area was excellent. You have access to hot drinks and iced water as required and there’s table service for food.
The food was super. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon cakes available.
Pool is small but spotless.
Good steam rooms.
Chairs and loungers provided to sit outside when the weather is kind.
Only downside is changing room is tiny so it’s busy and cramped at times. But that’s a small gripe.
Overall, a really relaxing day escaping from reality. Thank you to the whole team.

I used to love this spa. It had a calm atmosphere and you instantly relaxed the moment you met the ladies in the check I area. Unfortunately, it has really changed. The moment I walked in, there was constant noise.
The dining area was the real dissapointment. The three ladies that worked in the eating area just stood around talking loudly and even singing christmas songs.it certainly didn't have the relaxing atmosphere it used to have. It used to be a lovely buffet style breakfast with a variety of pastry types that you could help yourself to, but not anymore. I was asked "What do you want?" I was given a small portion of yoghurt, and 2 thin slices of melon. Not enough to satisfy really. I have no idea if you can ask for anything else and the lady working there didn't offer. I then asked for a mini croissant and that is exactly what I was handed, no jam or butter and no suggestion as to where I could get some.
Lunch was tasty but the servers were gruff and blunt in their responses to questions and manner. It was a completely different experience to my previous experiences.
The spa itself is fine but it is very busy and noisy. I wouldn't recommend if you want to relax and unwind.
A feel really let down .

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you feel the service at Fairlawns has changed and that it felt noisy the day of your visit. We have worked hard over the last few years and are delighted to still have many of the same team and have reduced guest numbers since March 2020 to ensure guests are well spaced so we are sorry it seemed noisy. Our food currently has to be covered and served as recommended by the government but certainly not restricted so we apologise the team came across as anything other than warm and welcoming, we will ensure this is worked on and we don't leave ourselves open to criticism moving forward. If you do decide to revisit please send a copy of your review to us along with dates of a future visit and we would be delighted to make a gesture to show you how seriously we take guests relaxation. If you would like to discuss anything further please send your contact details and date of visit to me at the hotel, when we are given the opportunity to put things right we try very hard to do just that. Thank you for your constructive comments and we do hope to welcome you in the future. Warmly, Victoria
