Very interesting museum
Jun 2020
This museum is situated in the Museum Quarter of the Kaunisnurmi area. The museum displays about 300 of the most spectacular and special radios from the 1920s to the 1960s.
While the museum tells the story of the history of radio, it also tells about the way people lived in Kouvola at that time. The furniture and other things are matching with the radios.
Every room has an interesting commentary that can be heard from the radios by pushing a button.

Tiny small museum
Jan 2018
Worth to visit, if you get guided around it. Otherwise it's just a mess. Small things have a lot of information, so go for it.

Beautiful old rooms and the largest military radio collection in Finland
Aug 2018 • Friends
Kouvola Milieu and Radio Museum (Kouvolan miljöö- ja radiomuseo) is situated in Kouvola Museum Quarter (read separate Tripadvisor reviews), quite near to Poikilo museums.
There are rooms with lots of furniture from the 1920's to the 1960's, tube radios, military radios and a museum radio amateur station in the museum. The collection of military radios is the largest military radio collection in Finland. It includes scramblers, agent radios etc. They also have changing exhibitions. In the summer 2018 it was a collection of Finnish ASA radios.
The museum isn't very large but the collection is huge. I loved the museum.
I visited the museum in August but I hadn't camera with me then. The museum is situated quite near to my home and so I took outdoor photos enclosed here in October.

A decade of history in every room
Aug 2013 • Family
A nice little museum in the museum quarter of Kouvola. In the main building every room is dedicated to a particular decade, from 1920s to 1960s. Not only radio receivers are displayed (as may be suggested by the museum name) but also furniture and many household items of the corresponding epochs.
The second building is more like a museum storeroom, with long shelves of various radio equipment (including, for example, spy radio station in a suitcase).
Admission fee is 2 euros, a tour is included.
A little fly in the ointment: museum guides are not radio experts ("I am not a technical man, I am just a museum man..." - said he after I asked the next technical question), so if you are deeply interested in the history of radio technology, your answers may remain unanswered.
