To use a ferry boat and to cross the Mira river at the estuary of the Atlanticc ocean: an exciting experience. As a group we decided to walk and to cross the river nearby over an architecturally well designed bridge— and locked from above at the huge quantity of fish swarming around one of the pillars of the bridge— near the “ confluent” of Sweet with salty water. To go by foot to the other riverside of Villa Nova Milfontes— to enjoy a morning expresso .and look with delight at the fast developing holiday center of “ Milfontes”— full of admirationion how well tge tourism of Portugal seems to develop.Energized bu a good espresso we headed to Almorgave— and keeping Villa Nova de Milfontes in good memory! We stayed overnight in this booming tourist town for one night and enjoyed its hospitality very much...On a Rota Vincente worth making a stopover!Recommend tonstay overnightbthere!

We caught the ferry to start our walk from Vila Nova des Milfontes to Almograve. Quick trip, owner rows out standing up in tiny dingy to bring ferry back. Her dog keeps you company, fun way to start our day. You get to walk down the beach instead of on the road.

Arrived at the blue jetty after walking from Cavalero and frantically called up the ferry rather than face an added 3 miles via the bridge. We beat the closing time 2 minutes. So grateful to see that ferry sailing to collect us.

By boat is the only way you'll cross over to Furnas beach on the south side of Mira river. We had a very nice ride with the boat's pet dog Vigia and a great morning at the beach. Very recommended!

Excellent trip on the river with our party of four. The 6:00 pm trip was very peaceful. We very much enjoyed our bottle of wine and great conversation with our guide.
