You will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of some of the most beautiful spots in the Spanish Pyrenees. You can opt for going all the way up in a 'taxi' jeep or walk. The mountain top refuge is a must and offers good food. The walk down will take you through big natural lakes, waterfalls and wonderful landscapes.

We visited Aigues Tortes from Espot. To walk from there to Aigues Tortes you will get disturbed by many tourists who hire taxi's into the area, which is a shame for a national park. The nature is wonderful but mid August it is way too crowded. Also it is weird that the area contains a number of water reservoirs which... More

It is the best National Park in Catalonia. It has all different landscapes and environments you can find in Pyrenees, all surrounded by crystal lakes. Lots of Flora and Fauna to enjoy. Just a shame over the years more and more pleople go there for tourism and they are not very reapecful with nature. Still, the views you find there... More

We had the chance to walk around the park and enjoy the views of mountains, waterfalls and local flora. I wish we could have stayed longer and walked further. We had a wonderful guide whose love of her home added to our enjoyment.

hi guys. From the upper parking lot (probably closed in high season, then you have to take the shuttle bus) you walk in 1,5 hour (we are 65+) to the lake. the walk is not always easy. But the walk is nice, the lake is beautiful. regards schliek

The park jeep takes you up the mountain and drops you off for your hike. Beautiful mountains, waterfalls, streams and lakes. Hourly jeeps back down to the town in the valley. Wonderful.

Wonderful walk through granite mountains, through enchanting landscape of lakes and pines. There are well placed mountain refugi (huts) at 4-6 hour intervals after crossing intervening passes. These refugi are staffed, and supply - for a price - a mattress in a bunk room (beware snorers) and basic meals. This is a puzzlingly underrated walk, and most hikers seem to... More

We took the jeep taxi from Espot to the first stop at Estany de Sant Maurici. There is ample free parking in Espot just across from where the Jeeps park. The Jeep trip takes about 15 minutes. Sant Maurici itself is a beautiful lake surrounded by tall mountain peaks and lush forest. We then hiked around the entire lake, stopping... More

This parc is a big nature reserve not accessible to cars, but with walking trails all over, lakes, mountains and refuges for the hiker. You can either park your car at the entrance of the park and start walking or take a 'taxi'(basically a Landrover Defender) from the excellent visitors centre in Espot. The most popular spot for day visitors is the St... Probably the best place for hiking in the Pyrenees. The lakes, the picks covered with snow, the coles (passes), it's amazing. Routes are marked very clear. Have a 1:25000 map and you can not get lost.
