About
Manaresi wine estate lies on the top of Bella Vista hill, 12 km south west from Bologna, in the heart of Colli Bolognesi DOCG wine district. The 11 hectares vineyards go round the estate centre at 270 degrees, facing all the plain from Bologna to Modena. The view rises above up to the Alps on crystal clear days. The winery has been named after Paolo Manaresi (1908-1991), prominent painter and etcher in the last century. The estate is personally run by Donatella Agostoni- Manaresi (Paolo Manaresi's grandaughter) and Fabio Bottonelli, by respecting the land and seeking the right balance. The soil is mainly clay with a little of gravel, with historical vocation for wine growing since the middle-age. The winery is furnished with up to date enological machinery and devices able to respect grapes. It lies underground on the lower level of an old Bolognese rural complex, whose 100 years old part has not been changed. All hand picked in small crates, grapes are very softly worked, all separate day by day, with a special care for quality, through low impact enological processes. Open at all times for direct sale. For guided tours and tastings, please write or call in advance (in this case a small fee is charged).

We highly recommend this vineyard if you are in Bologna or Modena.
The views around the vineyard are amazing as o e can see in the attached photos.
The wine is super good and the stories behind every bottle are quite nice. The owner is super nice, which makes this experience more memorable.

Make time to go here! Absolutely stunning location, fine wine and great company. We made friends with some others on our tour, Fabio was fantastic answering our questions and sharing his local knowledge. Me and my partner aren't big wine fans but we left with 3 bottles! Generous tasters too (recommend you don't drive here to fully experience this place) for 20 euro each. Cannot thank Fabio enough for this amazing experience, we'll be back.

Amazing experience from start to end! Fabio was a fantastic and extremely knowledgable host. The wines were incredible and the story behind the artwork, label designs and winery was great. We visited as a group of friends and loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our tour ended up being a private one! All for £25 each! Alongside the wines we were given a selection of gorgeous local nibbles and couldn’t believe all we got for such a reasonable price! Do not hesitate to book this trip! It was one of the highlights of our Bologna visit.

If you’re seeking a wine tasting in Bologna, go for Manaresi. It’s close to town with great views of Bologna. Best of all is the owner Fabio who will delight you with stories of the family winery with generous tastings of their excellent wines. Lovely people and great wine.

Fantastic experience just outside of Bologna!
Great to sit in a beautiful small winery and speak to the winegrowers. Fabio was very knowledgeable and super friendly.
We even picked up a whole host of bottles to bring home.
Awesome views. Lovely wine. Great fun with the family.

We truly enjoyed our visit at this smaller wine producer in Zola Predosa, about a 30 minute drive from Bologna center, and recommend it to travelers in Bologna interested in local wine producers.
The group size was suitable, around 12 people, which made for nice encounters with other people. The tour involved walking through the vineyards and production facilities, with Fabio, our friendly host, explaining their selection of grapes and production methods.
The house, located on a hill appropriately named Bella Vista, had a stunning view. The wine tasting itself was very nicely organized, and we got to sample several of their products with specifics on each wine and food pairing suggestions. The wines were very good, each with a different character. The grapes were varied, with Pignoletto being the specialty of the region.
There was no pressure or ”requirement” to purcase any wines (we did, though), and we were able to enjoy the entire evening at the lovely terrace watching the sun set.
Very highly recommended for anyone wishing to get to know local family-owned wine producers and learn more about their products. We enjoyed the home-made appeal and sincerity, so dont expect a bulk tourist experience.

We found Fabio to be incredibly friendly. We were 5/10 minutes late and when we called him he was more than understanding.
The walk around the vineyards was really good and Fabio spoke a lot about the 24 hectares, the local grapes used, and the traditional methods they up-keep.
We then walked around the winery and it was amazing to see how much equipment is needed to produce and store the wine.
Finally the wine tasting was very special and we sat out on the terrace with an amazing view. Fabio was incredibly generous with the wine and also brought out some bread, cold meets, and cheese.
A well worthy experience!

Booked a tour/tasting via email, and quickly got everything confirmed. Had a wonderful time getting a tour of the vineyards guided by the wine grower, Fabio. This was followed by a tasting (but actually full glasses of) four of the wines made there. The wines were superb! If you're in or around Bologna, make your way here. We took public transit to and from; it's about a 20 minute walk from the bus or train. Worth it.
