Mount Fuji (富士山, Fujisan) is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain, It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people throughout the centuries.
Mount Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
Another easy way to view Mount Fuji is from the train on a trip between Tokyo and Osaka. If you take the shinkansen from Tokyo in direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of the mountain can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji Station on the right hand side of the train, about 40-45 minutes into the journey.
Note however, that clouds and poor visibility often block the view of Mount Fuji, and you have to consider yourself lucky if you get a clear view of the mountain. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons of the year than in summer, and in the early morning and late evening hours than during the middle of the day.
If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace and from a nice natural surrounding, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region at the northern foot of the mountain, or to Hakone, a nearby hot spring resort. Mount Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via several routes.

Can take lots of nice pictures with mt. Fuji as the background. Kids played with snow. Also have a couple of souvenir shops for takung home with you

It was atleast 3 hours drive from Nagoya to Fujinomiya. The long drive was worth it, once we reach the area, we drove along the vast sea of trees or popularly known as Aokagahira forest a.k.a " Suicide forest". The mere site of the densely pack trees was such a marvel to look at.The experience with the suicide forest gave me chills although we didn't really trail inside the forest, the vibes was a bit sad probably as well considering I've read so much about it's history and as we drove along we saw signs of warning telling the potential suicide victims to seek for help or what have you. We decided to drive straight to the trail area, 2400 meters out of 3766 meters of Mt Fuji,it was a marvelous experience the sad part was we only saw a glimpse of Mt.Fuji it was a rainy and cloudy day, and the fog was so thick we could barely see the road, If you've seen the movie "The Mist" it was really something like that but nevertheless the experience was still worth it definitely one for the books. For those of you planning to visit Mt.Fuji I strongly recommend during summer season, July to August, and they also offer day hikes inside the Aokagahira Forest. Going up the mountain is one the best things that you guys should experience when you visit Japan 🗾 🗻🎌🎌

Shizuoka prefecture closed even the roads because of the virus, as in Shizuoka, the virus is jumping between the cars. Interestingly, this is not the case of Yamanashi prefecture, as the road is paid there, so there's no virus transmission :-) Funny paranoia

The road to 5th station was so clean and neat.
Besides there were no humps and bumps to reach there!! Despite the fact that I have to pay 2k yen to enter, I was so impressed to be there!!!

As we have arrived to Mt.Fuji, unfortunately there was not a good weather! Was extremely windy and snowy and we couldn't see the Fuji, so we went shopping instead :)
Before you go there, make sure you check the weather forecast.
We have seen her from the bus on the way, it was a nice experience.

Bunch of stores that are closing early (6 p.m.) despite people climbing overnight. They are overcharging for everything, so bring lots of cash (no, credit cards are not accepted).

Luck wasnt with us that day as it was foggy. Could not see Mt Fuji. Maybe just half a glimpse. Something fun to do is send yourself a postcard from Mt Fuji. You will received it pretty fast in your home country. Mine took about 10 days. That is the only attraction. Didnt explore much as we have little time. Long queue to take the bus . Also have to stand for an hour throughout the journey.
