Not much of a bird-lover, I agreed to go with Hubby. KACHOEN is quite AMAZING. First, a variety of owls, with different "eyebrows". Explosion of color from the flowers, begonias in hanging baskets, other flowers from floor to ceiling, even in February! Take a seat for the live owl performance, very well trained! I liked the flamingos best. Outside their cage is Mt. Fuji up close. And look for the "Trump" bird: looks, walks, and talks like Trump...

This place is like a bird park, but they focus on owl. Inside there plenty of flowers too. Close encounter with owl for additional 500 yen.

This was a first for me! I got to put an owl on my shoulder! And feed tropical birds out of my hand! I would recommend this place to anyone, but especially to people with children. There are probably 50 or so owls you can see up close, penguins not behind glass, and walk in bird cages where you can feed the birds apples. They are NOT shy! (but they only love you for your apples). It is not an all day place, but a great twoish hour stop (if you watch the show, an hour if not). Great souvenirs and a really neat show. Also, if you are a botanist type, prepare to be overwhelmed! The flowers are amazing! Oh, rabbits and guinea pigs too!

Admittedly, beautiful flowering potted plants await you in a somewhat dilapidated-looking greenhouse. In the building and in the outdoor enclosure there are a number of animals (owls, penguins, flamingos, etc.) in cages that are clearly too small and not suitable for their species.

be surprised once the wooden door opens! it's so magical! i love flowers, but never thought to see such beautiful flowers in this place. felt like in Camelot! they have birds and variety of owls, but i spent less time there. my eyes can't contain the loveliness of blooms and colors. i just sat down and marveled at the profusion of live blooms! it's so beautiful there!

This was not part of our itinerary but a local friend took us here as we had to kill time. It has an owl park with all kinds of owl on display and there is a flower garden in the backyard. The parrots in the garden are nice and they climb on your shoulders. You also have few talking parrots. But otherwise it is not worth to spend money on cab and the entrance fees.
