We were travelling with Italian-born friends and visited this church whilst in Serra San Bruno - and very pleased that we did. The architecture is typical Calabrian baroque with an interior that is stunning in scale and visual impact. Even though I'm not of the Catholic persuasion and had already visited a number of other churches in the region, this one had a particular reverential atmosphere. The paintings and other works of art are significant and not quite what I expected from a church in this modest town. In particular the depiction of Christ's crucifixion is one of the most sincere and life like I have seen - stunning. Well worth visiting whilst in this area.…
