Great specialty museum about hop growing -- the museum explains the long history of hop growing and harvesting, the "know how" in growing hops, and how this has changed over time from manual work to mechanised and exported around the world.
The museum has lots of real equipment related to hop production, but not much you can interact with directly. Probably more interesting for adult beer drinkers than children.
I cycled one of the many bike routes through the Hallertau region, ending up at Wolnzach -- a good way of seeing the hops fields up close.
I spent 90 minutes in the museum.

An integral part of a visit to the Hallertau region of Bavaria, and home to some of the best hops in the world. Other than it's necessary to brew beer, we knew little about growing hops. This museum documents history, growing, and harvesting of hops. My only suggestion would be to add a small tasting room with some of the local beers, like Urban Chestnut, and several others. I noticed others mention the exhibits were only in German. The audioguides helped in that regard. We had some questions about a local brewery, and the lady at the front desk was very helpful in calling the brewery, and then a local drink market. Well worth the short detour off the A9 Autobahn.

The museum is convenient with underground (free) parking and a good way to spend an hour or so on a rainy day. A few exhibits are interactive so you can feel what it is like to raise a pole that will carry the wires that hops grow on. You can construct a hops miniature field of wires and poles and touch/see many things. The text is in German as many other reviewers have said. We did not think to ask for an English audio guide (in hindsight we should have as our German is fine, but not good...we understood the jest of what the text said). One warning-if you see a tour bus, walk around the town a little and come back. Two tour buses had unloaded right as we were parking and the museum was prepared with tour guides, but it was a bit tight to navigate between groups.

The design of the museum is very appealing from the outside and continues inside with a lot of information.
The reception by the lady at the entrance, however, was like the weather: cool and dismissive. As a larger group we were in the house before the tour started and were asked to wait loudly outside as other visitors could be disturbed ! - even after paying for the entrance fee. Equally ruthless was the employee pictured on "guided tours", who stood with her small group next to our large group with guide and drowned out everyone. The request for a little more consideration also showed little success and made them even more puny.
My next visit will be in schism again!

Interesting museum in German Hop country. It cost 5 Euros to go through it on two levels and is very thorough. Fortunately, I've been a home brewer for 30 years and speak & read German, so for me it was awesome. Several of the displays had some real hops in them. Scoop them up and smell the hops. Grab a whole hop cone and crush it between your fingers, then smell it again. Ahh heaven.
The lady at the front desk was not too friendly, but she seemed to have all sorts of duties there, including being the Putzfrau (cleaning lady). Wolznach is a sleepy little down with not much going on, especially in early October as many shops were just closed.
For the 5 Euros, they could have a small handout with translations for those non-German speakers.

This is a very nice museum, with a fantastic collection. The collection appears well curated and logically placed. The museum is aesthetically bright, friendly, and clean. I only wish that the museum was more accommodating for foreign visits. A simple guide with language translation would be helpful. If they can't do that, simply providing wi-if Internet so I can do my own translation would be helpful. I feel like I could have gotten a lot more out of this visit, but it was still worthwhile.

On a recent trip to Bavaria we had a couple of hours to fill and were told the Hop Museum was worth a visit.
It was fascinating to see how far the industry has come over the past few tears compared to centuries of gradual development. The Museum is well laid out and with the aid of a gixmo to give us an English guide it was informative too.
Its worth the time and the staff were friendly and helpful too.

I have been on several tours of breweries in the past but I never learned about the complexity of hops before! In that respect, this museum is really interesting! However, starting from the VERY unfriendly (just plain rude) lady at the reception, to the fact that the audio guide (not free) didn't work very well (shut itself on/off, some "points" didn't work at all, eventually died on me) took away from the quality of the place as a museum. Also, there's no beer or even food to sample - how great would that be, if this museum offered that to its guests!

Tries hard to be the comprehensive resource on all things to do with hops - beer sampling sadly amiss.
