Kefalonia Island Tour

28 reviews
Commence a scenic island drive through olive groves, vineyards and thick cypress glades. Passing through the Mount Aenos you will visit the Robola Winery and taste the famous Robola variety of wine. Explore the Drogarati Caves, famous for their acoustics. Visit the geological phenomenon that is the Melissani Lake which is in an underground cave. Next, we go for lunch to the cosmopolitan village of Fiscardo, untouched after the great earthquake of 1953. Leaving Fiscardo you will head to the little fishing village of Assos, which gives the impression of being an island of its own. En route on our way back, you’ll make a photo stop at Myrtos Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What you will see:
• Robola Winery – Visit inside, wine tasting
• Drogarati Cave – Visit inside
• Melissani Lake – Visit inside, boat ride
• Fiscardo Village – Lunch break (optional)
• Assos Village – Coffee stop
• Photo-stop at Myrtos beach

An easy 2km walk to the other side and back. Stop for lunch or dinner at Aristofanis restaurant or coffee in cafe on other side.

A historic bridge that takes about 15mins to cross. Nice memorial halfway over. Nice bars and restaurants close by

I have been coming to Kefalonia my whole life, as my mother is from there. There was a long time where this bridge was closed and I was so thrilled to see that a few years ago it finally opened up for the public. It is a beautiful walk from Argostoli Harbor to the other side of the lagoon. It is such a gorgeous walk, especially at sunset. I loved walking and seeing the skyline of Argostoli slowly light up. Since I am Greek, I cannot really tell you about the morning walks that my American friends and family raved about! I think at any time visiting this bridge is a must!

Really unusual bridge which separates a lagoon off from Argostoli harbour. Walking across gives a completely different perspective of the town, and you may be lucky enough to see some turtles! Just by the Argostoli end of the bridge is a hire place where you can rent pedalos, electric boats or hydro bikes. A lovely eco-friendly excursion!

An interesting walk along this causeway. Fun to watch the turtles happily swimming and doing their thing.
