Super interesting tour of the Kennecott mines with Leah. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Would definitely recommend this tour. Note: you can’t go inside the concentration mill without a tour guide.

We did the tour of Kennicott mill. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour was interesting, but my only issue with the tour was that it didn’t include any of the side buildings, just the mill. All throughout the tour, our guide kept saying this building is such and such, it’s very cool so you should check it out, but we aren’t going in. Then when our tour of the mill was over, all those other buildings that were supposedly so cool were closed so we didn’t get to see them. It was very frustrating because it felt like I paid for a tour, but only got half of it.

Kelsey, you were awesome. Nice paced hike to the glacier. She tempted a few of us to do the blue pool plunge and we took her up on it. We couldn't resist for that cup of hot chocolate and certificate! The hardest part was getting clothes off and back on. The jump in and seal maneuver back out took about 15 seconds. Super cold but when you're out (on a nice day-late July) it was not uncomfortable at all. I actually just put my shirt and sweatshirt back on and stood there in my wet underwear drinking my hot chocolate while I dried off. And the hike back in kind of wet underwear was no problem. My 12 year old jumped also! My advice, stay calm and don't panic to get out of the water. The first guy in our group did, his face totally panic stricken, and totally didn't get on the blue mat and scratched himself all up trying to get out. I had not 1 scratch, just stay cool. My only wish, to see a crevasse, but the blue pool made up for it.

We went with Victor from this group for our tour of Kennicott and it was great. He was knowledgeable, great at answering our questions and guided us through the town in a very nice fashion. We learned a tremendous amount about the place, the mine and the mill. I recommend using these folks if you visit.

I was hesitant to hire a guide for the glacier hike but am so so happy I did! I did the half day hike with Dan and he did an incredible job. I would not have been able to see so many cool features safely without him. I highly recommend this tour.
