What a great experience the family had with Cody and Harrison. Cody was our main guide and Harrison was co-guide. Two awesome personalities who made the day fabulous. Despite the cloudy day and occasional rain drizzles, we all had a great time. The day started with the Copper Oar team getting us dressed for the trip, which included boots, neoprene jacket, and splash pants and top. And thank goodness for them because it was cooold, and we would have frozen with our own clothes. Morning was spent going down the river with Cody and Harrison taking the lead with the paddles and the story telling. Went by fast! Then we had a full lunch spread courtesy of Cody and Harrison who got the whole picnic table and fixin's all set up for us while we browsed the area. When the rafting was over, we got picked up by private plane and dropped off at the airport. All in all, a great day. We will do it again!

Thanks so much for the great review! You described the day so well - glad it was so memorable :) Cody and Harrison are a great duo and like all our guides, are skilled oarsmen, backcountry chefs, and story spinners! They'll always make sure you are outfitted with all the gear you need to be comfortable on the river, even on a chilly day!! We can't wait for your next visit!

Where else but Alaska can you do whitewater rafting and have a bush plane fly you back?! It was a great trip and a great day! The river was foggy and spooky beautiful when we started. The dry suits were super clutch, the lunch provided was perfect, and the plane ride back was something I'll never forget!

Hi Tara, We're so psyched to hear that you enjoyed your day on the river and the extended flightsee on the way back to town! Clouds are part of the landscape out here and can create an otherworldly feel to the mountains and river. A big deli spread certainly helps make the day too :) Please let us know if you have any more feedback to share at info@copperoar.com

Spent a week on the river with Sarah, Robin, Haley and Lindsay. They were very knowledgeable about the area, served excellent meals, and made sure we all had a great time. Wish we could have spent two weeks on the river with them!

Fantastic one day rafting journey out of McCarthy with Copper Oar after returning from the five day Glacier and Tundra backpack with St Elias Guides. Robin and Sarah were knowledgeable, affable and very skilled guides on the river as were Max and Daniel on the backpack. The river was flowing fairly gently other than a couple spots that gave us a real thrill. The lunch was fantastic in a great setting. The pickup and mini flight see by Wrangell Air at the conclusion of the rafting trip was a great conclusion to a fun filled seven day adventure. Copper Oar/St Elias Guides were the best from start to finish. Gaia expertly led us through this great adventure from the planning stages in March including trip itinerary, helpful hints and transportation modes to gear and conditioning for the hike portion. A five star operation!

Did a 7-day rafting trip on Copper River. This is the first time I have been on a multi-day rafting trip, so I did not quite know what to expect. Copper Oar did a great job helping me out with logistics before and after the trip. 2 guides for only 5 guests. Guides Scott and Juniper prepared excellent food (and a lot of it!!). The scenery along the river was amazing! In addition to the mountains and the river itself, we saw amazing glaciers and a lot of wildlife (bears, eagles and seals). We also went paddling among the icebergs. Highly recommend the trip and the company. You should also go visit McCarthy and go on a trip with Copper Oar’s sister-company St Elias Alpine Guides.
