There is a nice short walk you can do which takes 2 hours from the park rangers place. We drove there from town which doesn't take long. Basically you follow the trail through the picnic area until the trail splits (there is a sign) and...More
We visited with a local guide, but you could easily go on your own. We hiked the (10k) Carpenteros trail. Quite rough in places, with a number of steep sections. Take binoculars as there is plenty of bird life to see, especially woodpeckers. We arranged...More
This national park is lovely. We took a short boat ride along the Cochrane River to a mirador and walked back from there along a good trail. The views of the River Cochrane were great with the water in the river being crystal clear.

We did a 3 days trek in this reserve. We saw plenty of little birds (so take your binoculars) and 2 huemules the same day !
The landscape are great.
You can camp inside the reserve in several nice places and the edge of the...More

We went two times, The first time we went to the mirador, that was already heavy for us. Second time we went with a small bota on the rio Cochrane. There is no place where the water is so transparant. We saw also the huemul...More
Well worth the drive from Cochrane. We went quite late in the afternoon/early evening, which is the time when the light is at its best for photography. The road from Cochrane is rather bumpy and in some places narrow, fortunately we saw no other cars...More
