My husband and I signed up for the sledging while we were in Rotorua. It was absolutely thrilling & terrifying at the same time. The guides really stress how hard this experience is and you definitely have to be a strong swimmer. I am a strong swimmer but I do not have experience swimming in river Rapids. I am really... More

I love adrenalin, I love bungys and I did multiple skydives, but I have never been rafting anywhere. Having enough time in Rotorua, I went for the one with the highest commercially run waterfall in the world (because why settle for less?). I absolutely loved it! The guides were the best guides I have ever been on a tour with.... More

Rain or shine, these guys are dedicated to sharing the unique, beautiful, and tragic scenery of Tarawera volcanoes. We unfortunately did not have good weather when we got up there, but the two guys were still loads of fun, full of knowledge on the surrounding areas, and always with a joke or two along the way. It was pretty cool... More

We went sledging in the middle of winter which might have been the reason why on the day, it was just us and our two guides in the water. But Kaitiaki will properly kit you out with wetsuits, booties and jackets, plus you’ll be having too much fun to care about the cold. Our ride through the five rapids (or... More

Can't thank the Kaitiaki team enough for a brilliant day out for me and my two kids. They were brilliant. Really knowledgeable about the area, the significance of the area to Maori and respectful to that culture. As a Kiwi it's great to see your own country through tourists eyes and to be proud of the messages tourists are getting.... More

After melting ice off the windscreen before we could head to the base, we were worried we might freeze to death. But the guides were awesome and the river was amazing! Can't wait to come back again! :)

This was my fourth time rafting with Kaitiaki. I always have friends visit from abroad and I make sure they don't miss out on rafting the highest commercial waterfall! Our guide was Henry and he was on point the entire time. He kept the safety briefing professional whilst entertaining us all at the same time! Will definitely recommend to anyone... More

This little 2 hour (or so) White Water Rafting is the best I've ever done. Even though it's short you get to experience three different waterfalls, ending with a 7 meter drop. The guides are awesome at getting you amped up with Maori war chants etc.. Not to be missed.

This was one of my favourite activities in NZ! We got picked up from the hotel and driven to the base! Here you get all the gear needed and the wetsuits are dry! Being winter I thought this would be a freezing cold experience but I was warm the whole time, even out on the river! The guides are very... More
