You can't help but see this as well as many other sculptures if you are wandering around National Harbor... Check it out! Very cool! Just couldn't find the perfect spot for a good photo!

The Awakening Sculpture at the National Harbor is a bit creepy. It’s a big disjointed metal sculpture of a giant. It’s got a sci-fi feel to it.

Great activity for the kids, big and little ones...near the water, plenty of sand, nice statue that was once located at Haines Point in Washington, D.C. It has lots of memories for me as a child.

The statue is really cool and we were all trying to figure out if it was Poseidon or another god, turns out it’s just a giant. My only wish is it wasn’t in sand, the kids all got covered and of course brought some back...More

We were there when it was not crowded so were able to get some great photos. We didn't know the title of the sculpture so I thought it was a guy drowning!

This sculpture was originally at Hains Point in East Potomac Park, Washington, D.C. Crews removed The Awakening from Hains Point in February 2008 for its move to National Harbor. ~ Wikipedia

O never in Washington State. It was designed & built for Haines Point in DC back in 60-70's

The Awakening is currently located on a beach in the National Harbor (it used to be located at Hains Point in Potomac Park). Access National Harbor by automobile or the Water Taxi from Old Towne Alexandria. No cost to view.
