For all that one part of me wants to be critical of its sterility; I cannot help ... but... More

When I was in high school, in the mid to late 1970s, there was talk about the National Harbor being built in the next few years. Needless to say, it took decades, and was worth the wait. Must be the sixth times we've been to here. It's our family go to place whenever we want a break from the hustle and bustle of big city. Stay in Gaylord National and take a stroll down the river bank. The scenery is beautiful. Area is clean and safe. Nearby outlet shopping and ten min drive to all the DC... More

We were staying at the Gaylord and decided to venture out to the Harborfront area. It's a mini-city where you can find dining, chocolates, entertainment and even the CVS.

I just came back from my trip here and I already miss the locale. The waterfront area was simply stunning and had great park walking/running/bicycling paths. Breathtaking views!

A little bit off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. It has a small town feeling with big city accomodations and restaurants.
