    Rainbow country at the end of the world...
    Though it is not really the westernmost point of the coast, at one time it was what people considered the end of the world as they did in Brittany...the road along the coast provides a good look at small villages and the Lighthouse is out there. The views are beautiful on sunny days but we were blessed with mixtures of sun and rain and were treated to the most rainbows I have ever seen in one day to the extent I named it rainbow country. I would highly recommend going off season, the number of restaurants is suggestive of high passage during the summer months.

    Impressive scenery
    If you are west of Santiago a trip to the Faro de Fisterra is definitely worth while. Just be aware you will probably not be by yourself, as it is an extension of the Camino de Santiago and there is a lot of pilgrims still doing the 80km+ stretch from Santiago to Fisterra. There’s a little restaurant and hotel at the Faro, a souvenir shop (toilets are free but you have to pay for toilet paper!!).

    The final end place after Camino walking.
    It is known as the end of land, and it is located at the sea coast of western Spain of Galicia. It is located at the coast of death ~ Costa de Morte. After finishing of Camino walking, many people visit there because there is 0 km Camino marking stone.

Beautiful End to My Camino

It was fitting to end my walk from Irun here and observe the tokens of other walkers who had completed their journey for varied reasons. Happy that the dumping of clothing has been abandoned.
It was a highlight to hear someone playing a digeridoo at the end of the earth...thanks Pedro.
The final 3 km walk was from town..without a backpack ...was a relief !!
Glad I did this walk to Finnesterra.

Truly the End of the World
May 2022
If you are walking the Camino, this is the last stop, as evidenced by the bronze pilgrim’s boot behind the lighthouse. It is a lovely walk out from Fisterre and an even better place to sit, looking out from what the pagans thought was the end of the world. You can understand when you sit there. Do not just stop at the lighthouse. Walk down the steps to its left, and there you will find the boot, an altar, and an amazing horizon to contemplate. When we were there in May, we had that area basically to ourselves.

The Cape Finisterre Lighthouse

The Cape Finisterre Lighthouse has been guiding sailors away from the rocky coastline known as the Coast of Death since 1853. The tower with balcony is attached to a keeper’s house and sits on a cliff overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean far below. It doesn’t appear to be open to the public. A long sidewalk leads to the lighthouse and where the steps end, you can keep climbing down further if you want. It’s breathtakingly beautiful here (thankfully the weather was clear). I visited with Tour Galicia.

A very nice magic place, where the land end

Faro de Fisterra (or Fisterra (the end of land) Lighthouse) is located near Fisterra little town in Galicia Region, in the North of Spain. It is a well-known lighthouse, where the land is finish, after this, only you can see the Ocean until American Continent, so it is a magic place. It is big and views from here are very nice, you can see a steep coast and the ocean. Pitifully, there is full of tourists and it is not possible to have a quite moment.

Mesmerizing Views and Sights

The path or drive to the lighthouse is packed with sights and views. Once there, the steps down to the end of the path has breathtaking views.

There were remnants of a storm when visiting making it very windy. The benefit was the waves and active ocean creating memorable moments for pictures.

Beauty of nature in its purest state!
We went there with family & friends. The views were stunning, and the air felt clean and fresh. There is a lighthouse and a souvenir shop nearby, and many places to take impressive photographs! I'd recommend having some sort of historical guide (via mobile or other) to enjoy it even further. Many people during sunset, so in case you dont mind missing it out, I'd go after an early lunch at one of the local restaurants. Absolutely worth the 2-hour car drive we made!

Might be quite crowded, but no wonder why - this is a truly unique spot; here the world ends! A must-see 3 km off the village.

Wonderful view

We visited this place last May and it was breathtaking. The sea view is wonderful.
It was quite crowded so it was hard to get a nice pic close to the cross and the boot but we managed. There is a parking lot very close to it and a small store where we bought ice cream =]
if you are visiting Santiago you should definitely make a stopover here.

End of the world
The Romans called it 'finis terrae' since they believed it was the most western point of the European mainland. It's a beautiful piece of nature surrounded by sea with a breathtaking view!
The sunset is just amazing, not only for the beautiful spectacle, but also to share it with the many pilgrims from all over the world surrounding you...
