Over the Summer months, I had the opportunity to go on two walks in the Able Tasman! The tracks are easy to walk and child friendly! A walk to Apple Tree Bay takes approx. 1.5hours each way and there is a beautiful beach for you...More

We walked 2 sections of the Abel Tasman coastal track over a long weekend. Very easy tramping, the track is well maintained and no sections are hard work. We commented that you could manage a lot of it in a wheelchair. Great views, gorgeous beaches,...More

We drove from Nelson and parked near the information centre at Marahau joining the trail into the park. After the causeway crossing the estuary, the trail gently rises to around 200 ft so you have all the advantage of great views from tree top level...More

Walked part of this track and enjoyed great views over the bay and out to sea. Easy walking, can be quite busy.

The park is absolutely beautiful. The hiking trails are along the coast with awesome views. There are multiple on/off spots for the water taxi. No roads in the park so it is the only form of transportation in out. You need to book the water...More

A beautiful walk to do on your own. Finish with a swim to cool down but watch the tides. Might be a bit much for young children though. Pack plenty of sunscreen as the sun is fierce all year round

This is a beautiful walk with views and butterflies and water everywhere. There is even a swing high up in the trees.

had a great day in the park. It started with a water taxi to a bay called anchorage. Then an easy walk out on a well maintained track. There are some awesome views and beaches on the way and there are some not so good...More

The scenery is breathtaking: lush cliffs overlooking turquoise bays and golden beaches, dense trails cut by streams and small water falls, and boundless star gazing. Go in the summer, bring more food than clothes and be prepared to hike for about 3-5 hours a day...More

My husband and I hiked on the Abel Tasman late March (this year) and we didn’t come across any wasps. Have you contacted the DOC office for an update?

No restaurants on the track other than Awaroa. Every beach is fabulous though my favourite is Te Pukatea. Aim to do walks of around 3 hours. Sea kayaking is a good option.
