12kms isn't a stroll in the park but bring plenty of water, bathers and some lunch and you can have a wonderful day. Very lush, green rainforest walks with plenty of beaches to stop at for lunch or just a swim. Glorious views pop up very often and if you're lucky, some interesting wildlife.

We did the 4-day tramp of the Abel Tasman coast track with very little experience, planning, or information - and loved nearly every second of it... albeit our bodies did suffer from quite a bit of wear and tear! Day one from Marahau to Anchorage was a bit of a shock as it dawned on us this wasn't going to... More

We did a 11 km hike and were blown away by the natural beauty. This is one of the nicest places on earth i have seen. Thus is a must if you are in the area. Simply stunning. You can choose different lenghts of hikes and be picked up the watertaxis. Or if you are in for adventure there is... More

wow! amazing national park! we took a water taxi out to onetahuti bay and hiked back to marahau in one day. it was a good hike, and a long day but definitely do-able as long as you take the first water taxi out. gorgeous views, very well maintained and clearly marked tracks. highly recommend seeing the park and coastline if... We did a one day hike to cleopatras pool from the park entrance in Marahau. Though, this is quite a bit of walking for one day, the great views and dipping into cleoptras pool were worth it. The track itself is in good shape and there's only a few steeper parts.

I've done 3 great walks in NZ - Tongariro, Routeburn and this - so I'll just say that while Abel Tasman is pretty - lot of great views and great place to hike and also chill by the beach and forest... it doesn't compare to the other great walks. The biggest problem with Abel Tasman is it's so far away... More

Can spend as little or as much time as you want on this track. We did four days, but I spoke to somebody that planned on spending two months just sauntering and camping on it - just living some simple life there for a while. Beautiful beaches, views and sounds - real good sensory stuff. Not as nice in grey... More

We were taken to Tonga Quarry and then took two hour walk to Medlands Beach. Lovely walk and just perfect with a child as it was shady enough and not too steep. We carried our two year old daughter in a sling. Bark Bay (just before Medlands Beach) is gorgeous! My daughter loved it too. Had shady spots too. And... More

A stunning walk with incredible views. The track is easy with lots of photo or lunch stop opportunities. The one down side is the large number of people who use the track - as should be expected though as it is definitely one of the best parts of NZ!

We did a 2 days track, taking one of the boats to tonga quarry and walk the way back. The track is not easy, with many climbs and quiet challenging areas but simply breathtaking. The combination of the beautiful beaches, hills, falls, rain forests its just incredible. We spent the night at torrent bay, there r nicer places to stop.... More
