Hiking (or "tramping" as New Zealanders call it) from one end to the other of this 32-mile track will take days, so if you're time-constrained, pick up a section of it. The view can't be beat as you walk through sandy bays and lagoons, past coves and estuaries.

We have a launch moored at Motueka and spend a lot of the summer cruising the waters around Abel Tasman. Glorious sandy beaches and the walking tracks are maintained to a very high standard giving spectacular views along the way.

We walked south - the paths are well marked and hug the coast, crossing beaches at times - watch for tide times although the are usually alternatives. Wonderful trees and shrubs give lots of shade. There are a few camping grounds and the odd toilet facility along the route. If you like walking this is a stunning place.

I was here in 2014 (TripAdv doesn't go back that far), as it was a optional stop on the Kiwi Experience Tour. SO happy that I chose to stay a bit longer and booked a walk in the park. You have to book a water taxi to the entrance of the park and its walking tracks, that's the only way... More

Gorgeous winter day! Water taxi from Khaiteriteri to apple Tree Bay. Walk to anchorage bay and water taxi back to Khaiteriteri. A few hours of paradise. Just the best.

Took a day trip on the coast track and it was such a nice hike. It was so hot but still worth all the sweat. The view was stunning, beautiful - simply amazing. The beaches, the crystal blue water and all the beautiful plants and trees makes it an awesome place to take pictures. The track is pretty easy and... More

This was an amazing track. I did a two day trek from Bark Bay to Totaranui staying in the hut at Aworoa. It was a brilliant walk and the hut was lovely. I have also completed a one day trek of the northern part of the track including the Gibb's Hill track. We had good weather for both of these,... More

We hired a tour that included sea transportation to Medlands Beach and pickup on Anchorage. Hence, we did that 4 hour and 11 km hiking with lovely views of the beach an the forest. The path can be done in the proposed time and there are huts and restrooms in both points.

This park is gorgeous and perfect for a long day hike. Aside from hiking, you can also rent kayaks, snorkels, and swim. The azure water, lush forest, and golden beaches are superb and peaceful. There is an app for the park available for android and apple phones. We only did a day hike, but it is possible to do a... More

In late June my brother and I did the Abel Tasman Coast Track opting to camp along the way. It's $14 per person to camp as opposed to $32 for the huts. We did the walk over four days staying at Anchorage campsite, Awaroa campsite and Mutton Cove. Even though the walk would be easily achieved in three days I'd... More
