So dissapointed when we got to Senj to be told this Place had closed 2 years ago !! We had come to Senj especially to see this place nowhere on the internet said it had closed the tourist info told us !!

We tried to go for this activity while being in Senj, but unfortunately, we recently ces the following Mail from owner : « Center is permanently closed from January 1st 2017. » No info if it will be opened again one day... Too bad 😢

We visited in September 2016 after planning the trip to Croatia especially to see the vultures, which i had found out about whilst studying wildlife conservation at uni. The centre is out in the middle of nowhere but there is a bus service. It was really nice to see all the hard work Goran and his team put in to save these birds. The centre has a lot of educational bits to look at as well as the viewing of the birds themselves. It's a shame the centre doesn't receive more money to fund things like electricity and running water. I'm really glad we made the trip as the people were really informative, welcoming and friendly, they even gave us a lift back into town!…

Didn't know birds could be so interesting to see and to hear about. Very willing and passionate volunteers made with their talking and exhibition our visit worth it. Had chance to see vultures having lunch. Better than in the documentary! :) We really recommend this place even if you are not animal fan.…

The drive down the coast from Rijeka is so spectacular, we keep stopping to take photos(see). Then, we stop for lunch in Senj, where we meet Marco, a relaxed dog with care-free attitude(see). Soon after leaving Senj, we run into a large sign along the road, announcing the sanctuary and rescue center. I remember that the island of Cres is famous for the existence of the Griffon vultures, a very rare and endangered bird. Needless to say, we stop and have a look at the extraordinary creatures. Admission is Kuna 30 (about $4.50) which is high compared to other attractions in the area, but this is a private rescue center and I can see how much they need the funds.…
