I played in this open competition on Sunday (02 June) and the course was in brilliant condition. The greenkeepers should be applauded for their tour standard greens, if you can't putt on these you can't putt anywhere. But it's not just the greens that are in great condition, the whole course was beautifully prepared and is testiment to a really nice, well run golf club on a whole.
To top it all off the food and (few) beverages in the club house equalled the condition of the course. To say I will be returning is an understatement.

Despite heavy rain the previous day the greens were exceptional, receptive and running true and fast. Well worth a visit.

Course was very well maintained and a joy to play. Clubhouse is a bit tatty and you have to play chicken with your life trying to get in/out of car park . All staff we dealt with ( group of 4 ) where very unfriendly and all but said they didn't want non members playing there. Would I visit again? Maybe but only if I have a half price voucher!

Simply the best greens I've seen, and it's still early on in the season. Streets ahead of most courses! Definitely recommend a visit.

Played today at newbattle for the first, and certainly not the last time. We were made very welcome in the pro shop, clubhouse, and by the members. Our opponents(retired members league) were quick to offer advice on "lines", dangers etc, and we enjoyed a good lunch after our game. The course is a credit to the greens staff, with good definition, general tidiness and excellent putting surfaces. Well worth a visit.

Parkland course, greens are as good as you will ever play. Very scenic, and an easy walk. New caterer is superb, quality of food outstanding.

Course lies in low valley not getting much sun. Was closed as waterlogged on morning we visited. Apologies accepted and we moved onto nearest open course.

Food OK. Not to the standard it used to be in the good old days. Bacon rolls are always good with lots of bacon. Always a lovely atmosphere.

A very welcoming club from pro shop to bar staff. The course is a great condition and is a credit to all greenkeeping staff. The greens are one of the best in lothians, A MUST COURSE TO VISIT,
