I lived here for about a month in January and February of 2015 though this site only allows me to go back one year. The palace and the estate it sits on are beautiful, though parts of the palace have fallen into disrepair.

After spending a semester living at the Dalkeith Estate, you grow to love the uniqueness of the Estate and it's surroundings. I was happy to call this place home!

Nice old palace great to have a walk around scenery very nice it was a special place during the war as I think the soldiers were based there .

If by 'castle' you mean Dalkeith Palace, then yes there is. Just walk along the High Street for approximately five minutes and then turn left into South Street: the bus stop for all Lothian Buses services towards Edinburgh... More
