Guided tour of hydro power station INSIDE A MOUNTAIN, in beautiful location on Loch Awe. Our guides were friendly, amusing & knowledgeable. The kids (age 9 & 11) were both fascinated. The tour lasts about 45 mins, we booked online the day before. Café inside the visitor centre was good & the gift shop had some cute things. Definitely recommend... More

At over £7 for a half hour tour, that only shows you a small portion through a window, and a guide who was more like a comedian than a knowledgable guide, I was left feeling very let down.

Visited this wonderful Visitor centre on Saturday 15th April Easter weekend 2017 We all loved it with the older children enjoying the whole underground visit, Unfortunately our youngest granddaughter had teething problems and got rather grumpy just before we left the ring chase area. Granny decided it was unfair to spoil the tour for everyone so waited at the visitor... More

Nice place, staff good but my dad ordered haddock but it was 5mm thick and 3mm was bread crumbs. This place has just started and 3 out of 4 meals where okay. Hopefully on my next visit the food quality is better. Big point the path to the pub has no hand rail for people especially in the dark .

Hell of a drive to get to but an incredible feat of engineering! Staff were excellent, very child friendly, café very expensive but it was clean & the food was quality. There's a kid-zone for them to play about in, we tidied it up after the 'Tarquins & Finlay's' had just wrecked it! We had a long wait in the... More

Cruachan Power Station is a great place to visit. The tour guide was very informative and humorous. When you get driven down the tunnel to the main power station, you really appreciate what an amazing piece of engineering this project is. There is a restaurant on site which serves hot and cold meals.

On holiday in the area we picked up a leaflet for this and thought it sounded worth a visit. How right we were. It's an amazing piece of engineering to have hollowed out a mountain and turn it into a power station! The trip was short although informative and somewhat expensive for that. There is lots of information in the... More
