My family and I did the long boat tour our first morning in Cap-Ferret and I'm so glad we did! It was really fun to have our own boat. Gilles was our captain and he told us a lot about the architecture and buildings, migrating birds, dunes, history of the Bassin. He has life vests for kids. We stopped in front of the Dune du Pila and banc d’Arguin for a picnic. You can get amazing pictures from this vantage point. My friends got to ride on the front and catch a little sea spray now and then which they loved. Gilles was great and it was so much more fun than being on a boat with other tourists. Definitely a fun time!

A great family outing for all the family.
Gilles Brachet, is a local fisherman and a charming host who knows everything there is to know about the region. The trip lasts one hour passing near the town of Arcachon and the wonderful 'île aux oiseaux', a bird reserve, with its colourful houses on stilts 'Tchanquées'.
I didn't know the region and found local history very interesting. Our visit was in french but english is also an option.
The best part was the possibility to have a private guided trip with friends. Our group consisted of two families, 4 adults and 5 children (3-7 years old)

We enjoyed a beautiful boat trip today with one of the boats on offer from Marie.
Half day rent was enough for us to discover a bit the bay of Arcachon with the Oyster Islands in the middle. The boot was in very good condition and the 6 HP engine functioned very well. Advantage was that no license is required to steer the boat.
We will be back on our next holiday.

The skipper was very friendly. He knew all about the history of the region, architecture, formation of the dunes and even about migrating birds. Speaks english. Well recommended!
