Our tour of the area stopped at this place for a wine tasting. We were offered three whites (Zilath, with Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes; vermentino from vermentino grapes; kottabos with chardonnay grapes) and three reds (Zilath with Montepulciano and sangiovese grapes; kottabos from merlot grapes; kantharos with sirah grapes).

The wines are poured freely and two large tables provided the opportunity to get some cheeses, breads, and meats to accompany the wines. It was a rather large warehouse type of locale, but there was some outdoor seating in the rear for those who preferred it.

Interesting wines, but a lesser presentation and location than some of the other stops.

We visited here as part of a winery tour recently and enjoyed the wines, the antipasto and the friendly service. The owner was particularly engaging and passionate about ensuring you were well wined, fed and served

Did a tour. We were running late so it was all a bit rushed. Wine was very ordinary and not that generous. Food spread was lovely. Had lots of olives, pickles, biscuits etc for sale as well.

Stopped here on a tour from our ship. It was billed as a visit to a farmhouse winery, but it’s really just a large commercial building, big enough to house a couple of tour buses full of people. They had a nice selection of two different kinds of meats, olives, bread and cheese laid out and there was plenty for everyone. They offered tastings of one white wine, a rose and 2 of their regular red wines, but you could also get tastes of their premium wines on the other side of the room. But, there were no descriptions of the wines, how they make them, where the grapes come from, and no tour of the winery itself. Except for the merlot, we were not impressed with their wines. I’m sure that there are other wineries in the area, so if you have the option to go someplace else (I.e., you are not on a tour), you might see what other wineries are available because this wasn’t that great.

Coming from South Africa we are extremely picky about wines and tasting them. We were very impressed with the wines and the personal service here.

We had a lovely wine tasting with Paolo. Giorgia the wine maker set everything up and it was unbelievable. We took home 3 bottles of Giacche and lots of goodies. Thanks for welcoming us into your vineyard and family.

Great wines, staff friendly. Food delicious. Highly recommend it coming from a couple of kiwis. Wines here are the best we have had on our European trip
