About
George's Ranch is located in the picturesque area of Sea Caves, which is situated in the North West of the island in the popular resort of Coral Bay, Paphos. The Ranch has been established since 1994 and, over the years, due to popular demand by tourist and locals, the Ranch has continued to expand. We started mainly as a trekking center in the early years, as we are situated just behind the beautiful coastal area of the Sea Caves, so have great access to scenic rides by the coast. Due mainly to the passion of Caroline, for competition and well schooled horses, the Ranch has now become a large training facility for local and foreign residents.

Hi see review earlier review about Spanish mare who bucks. I had the same horse and she bucked constantly during the ride whenever a horse came near her or when we went into trot. She appears to have been in season. I also explained that whilst I am an experienced rider I also wanted a quiet horse, as my own horse does not buck or rear. I stayed on with help of my neck strap but couldn’t say the ride was enjoyable.

Not recommended, I am an experienced rider as have owned/ridden horses all my life, went on the 90 minute hack with two other girls and a guide I specifically asked for a horse that doesn’t buck, rear etc was put on Julietta a Spanish horse got to a field the other three galloped off we started to follow she put in a huge buck and threw me off I couldn’t breathe I thought I was going to die the guide came back and was telling me to get up I couldn’t I was hurt eventually he pulled me up whilst the horse was galloping uncontrollably around the field. I was collected by a staff member, yes I signed a disclaimer but it’s not worth anything when no measures were put in place the other two riders had blistered hands from holding back the strong horses, I have tried to contact the owner who has blatantly ignored my emails as is Dave who was patronising, not one of them have checked I am ok I have been to our hospital and I have broken my back and bruised shoulder and ribs, no incident form was completed totally mismanaged, just becareful if you choose to ride at this establishment, I know we ride at our own risk but it’s disgusting that they have shown no compassion , the only plus was a nice photo taken before the accident,

Fabulous absolutely worth the experience. I loved everything, well worth it. I rode Shawna/Sharna the eldest horse of the 4 at 29years( she likes to scratch her bottom on the bushes bless her)
Can be for all riders and the 2 guides very experienced handled the horse well. Guided us on our journey through Peyia along the coastline. Took photos of us on the horses. Horses are really looked after. An amazing experience. Tipi thank you sorry if i have spelt your name incorrectly.

Just finished an hour and a half sunset hack with Georges Ranch and just wow!
The views were incredible with the sunset. Horses were definitely not your average riding school plods but all perfectly safe - I had Mella and she definitely knew when it was canter time! It was however clearly stated you needed to be experienced to do the 1.5 hr ride - also no nastiness eg bucking or rearing just very keen to get on with the job, which if experienced isn't something that will cause a problem.
I haven't ridden for about 6 months and it was nice to just go for a relaxed outing with our guide who was great as well - also met the owner who was great, proper paperwork/ disclaimer produced prior to riding as well
I was a bit nervous as it has been 6 months when previously I'd ridden all my life, but the guide was lovely kept checking me and the other lady were OK, happy to take photos for us and we had a couple of great canters! His photo taking skills were great!

Came here last week with my partner who has never ridden before. First impressions count I believe and we were smitten. Beautiful ranch, had a wander round to see the stables and horses beforehand and felt welcome to. 50 plus horses in a condition that would put some English stables to shame. Relaxed happy animals. I rode Ajax who was a delight, enough character to keep me on my toes and seemed to enjoy himself and particularly his hose down afterwards. My partner rode Sam, who looked after him very well despite his never having sat on a horse before. It's reignited my love for riding having not ridden for some years.
Particularly shout out to Dave who shared a drink with us after and educated us on some Cypriot ways and infected us with a longing to come back. You've a gem there. Thankyou to all the staff for doing such a wonderful job. This short trip was the highlight of my weeks holiday so much so we are looking to holiday close by next year so we can visit again.
Just a note regarding some negative reviews...
If you are as stated an experienced rider then you will know animals can be unpredictable and are not bicycles. I have a sneaky suspicion some of you aren't as experienced as you've been led to believe in back home.
Finally... The views are amazing, and the price of 35 euros? Unbelievable. Horses are expensive to keep and care for and that you're getting this experience so cheap should not be something to whine about. I guess some folk are preconditioned to find fault with everything.
Much love from the visitors from York x

The ranch is close to the Cap St Georges Hotel and they offer riding experiences for the beginner as well as more accomplished riders.

I recently visited with a friend and her younger sister; we had the most amazing sunset ride. We had a small group (around 10 of us) participating with all levels and ages catered for.
Before setting off, we had time to walk around the ranch and say hello to all the horses and resident cats.
Some riders had a member of staff guiding the horse but others (horse or rider!) were experienced enough to be left to it. Either way there was always a team member close enough to assist if needed.
The route we took was beautiful but the highlight really was the final destination; the cliffs. We stopped and the team ensured everyone had enough pictures they were happy with against the backdrop of a gorgeous sunset.
On our ride back, I asked if we could use the ranch’s phone to call our taxi back to the hotel and our guide went a step further and called them on his mobile to make sure we weren’t waiting around. As a trio of young women, this was a step above and beyond and much appreciated by us all.
Staff are more than happy to take photos so please ask! You’ll want to look back on them I promise. We were even sent further photos via WhatsApp by the team which was so lovely.
In total we paid €120 for the 1 hour sunset ride for 3 of us. It was well worth the money and we ended up sending some friends later in the week as they saw how much we had enjoyed it!
A huge thank you to George’s Ranch for hosting us and giving us some incredible memories from our trip🐎

Went on the sunset ride as a party of 4 adults and two children. The welcome was very friendly and we had a look around at the horses while we were waiting. All the horses were extremely well looked after and we were all given an appropriate horse for our size and experience. Gentle Big Ben for our nervous adult male was a star! The ride was lovely and relaxing with beautiful sea views. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a lovely addition to our 10 day holiday. Thank you George's Ranch - we will definitely return when back in Cyprus!

I am an experienced rider & the horse I was provided with was undersized for my height, my boots wouldn't fit into the children's sized stirrups, the Arab was fitted with a "D" ring Pelham which indicates the horse was clearly feisty to handle, the animal was not suited for trekking & was out of control, jog trotting whilst walking. As soon as it was allowed to canter, it broke into gallop & threw me to the ground twice, I have multiple bruising & a damaged pelvis

Hi has anyone visited the stables recently - no reply to my email. Also is it far from the Coral Beach hotel? Do they do pick ups ?
Thanks

They aren’t the best at replying to email but they answer the phone. That’s how we booked our ride (yesterday). I don’t think they pick up...we drove ourselves.
