Almost Mamma Mia

EVERYONE talked about renting a boat at Paleokastrista and cruising down the coast to Rovinia Beach.
100 Euros and an adventure begins!!!
The excitement and drive over from Cofu Town are maybe the best part...
Well...if you have ever rented a small outboard boat the boating experience is the same.
The rugged Greece shoreline is beautiful.
The water is clear. There are fish to feed if you end up buying a whole loaf of bread to make two lunch sandwiches.
The beach?
...rocks and pebbles with no amenities.
The whole experience is Very Very similar to Catalina Island near Long Beach, California.
If you have ever been; just as much fun without having to go to Europe to do it.
My honest advice...
..skip it and drive the coast
... stopping in villages and swimming the same rocky coast beaches that would have amenities and seafood.
...If you do go...spend a few Euro more and get a more powerful engine... Putting along the coast slowly uses up all your rental time...

Nice pebble beach

A bit of a tourist attraction on Paleokastritsa, but despite all of the people the beach is very nice. Pebble beach with soft sand.

Not too busy - a hidden gem and the exercise walking there is worth it!

Parking is cramped and the roads are VERY bumpy the closer you drive. Closest parking area is 3 euros.

Stunning beach, but a real trek to get there!
Sep 2020
This beach is beautiful! The sand/pebble beach is such a nice place to be, and the water is clear as anything! The only problem is the number of steps to get to and from the beach. It's a real trek! You'll be out of breath as it's roughly a ten-minute steep descent from the car park to the waterfront. But, if you're willing to make the sacrifice, it's a real find and I would highly recommend it!

On of the best beaches in the world!!
Aug 2020 • Family
This is by far the best beach in Corfu and one of the best in the world. Small pebble, turquoise seethrough water, secluded, only a small boat that comes in the bay to sell frappes and ice creams for peanuts!
This is a beautiful peaceful beach and after seeing a lot of seclusion island beaches with a boat and some other fantastic beaches a cross the world including Cuba, this one beats them all.
You can drive down the hill but if your car is not one for climbing up a steep hill, you are better parking it in one of the two car parks on the way down just to be safe! If you do make it all the way down with your car the parking is free of charge.
Highly recommended!

Wonderful place

Beautiful place, you have to walk for a while but it's worth it.
Unfortunately the water is freezing cold for those who are not used to it.

Beautiful beach with crystal clear water
Nov 2019
Ideal for families, the water deepens gradually and is pristine. Bring a beach towel, picnic and parasol as you can safely spend hours here absorbing its beauty, a must see if in the area.

Good to see, didn't stay

We have visited this Beach because it was on our way. Nice cave, water seemed same as every where else. Down side was the road there, it was super bad, we had a small rental car so we have struggled a bit. Payed parking wasn't working anymore because it was end of the season and we didn't know there was a free parking at the end so we have turned around and then walked to the Beach. But I was glad we did, because our small car was not suitable for that road, so many pot holes.

the perfect location to spend a day next to the sea
Oct 2019
Soft sand beach with gentle slope into the sea; wide variety of water based activities available for very reasonable prices; the sea is a stunning blue and really clean and warm enough for even the least adventurous; a variety of restaurants around the whole beach area; free changing and showering facilities just off beach; local small boat tours available at 10 euros to visit local sea caves etc. plenty of parking and shopping to meet most needs. wonderful 2 days spent there

Worse than others
Oct 2019 • Couples
Compared to other Paleoktrisa and Corfu beaches this one was worse.
There are 2 parkings. 1st is private (on the right side on your road before beach) for 3 EUR, but with TOITOI toilets. Further is 2nd which is free. From the 1st to 2nd there is veeeery narrow road. Actualy all road to this beach is very narrow.
Beach is vith stones. Bring beach shoes with you.
A lot of wasps! So it is a nightmare to eat somethingon the beach. Have not seen wasps in any other Corfu beach.
