A lovely town with a good mix of age groups. Not swarming with children but also no big groups of single sex young people out to party loudly. A safe, friendly feel about the resort and it stills holds a quaint atmosphere. The locals are...More

Very nice beach, not too crowded. Small parking very close. Most beautiful: the sunrise, early in the morning. Magic light, good time for yoga/running/walking.

Great place to chill and relax. We stayed 3km outside of Lux which is more relaxing. However need to hire car to get around but plenty of taxi's around for nighttime.

The beach it self is super nice! Super crowded in July. Lots of people and nice terraces along the boulevard.

As others have said, Praia Da Luz is an ideal place to go if you want a safe, beautiful beach with lots of varying restaurants nearby. The beach is clean and you don't get harassed by seagulls (although it must be over-run with them overnight...More

We love Praia da Luz. It's a lovely beach for the family. We particularly like visiting in the early evening when it's slightly cooler for the kids to be able to properly play. A couple of decent food / drink places nearby, too.

The resort offers you a relaxing environment, as the beach and the surroundings are clean and quiet, as well as the accommodations (especially those from Luz Beach Apartments, which are near the beach). The food is great, with a wide variety of seafood. I recommend...More

Planned to spend a dsy here, left after a little over two hours, most of which was spent trying to find a place that was open for breakfast. Sadly found the Endless Summer, and wished hadnt.

As far as I know there is not. Unlike the other responder I am not a big fan of the Lagos market. In terms of the freshest produce the best market is in Alvor on Sunday mornings. Alvor is another 20 minutes east of Lagos.

I don't think so. I have been many times and can't say that I have seen anywhere advising that option. Lagos is a much bigger town so probably have more chance there.

I didn't see them in use as the sea was too rough, but there was water sports equipment companies near the beach. also Lagos is quite close for dolphin watching and fishing trips.
